It's not even just journalists with these sentiments. I've had leftist friends who have witnessed the past 10 years and still don't understand why any of what's happening now could have happened. They naively thought someone would come to save them eventually. That January 6th and those locker room talk tapes would stop Trump. The tapes they used twice by the way. All of it has failed in humiliating fashion and now we are witnessing them laying the groundwork for what is essentially a Peter Thiel hegemony.
