We are WINNING on 8 - 10%: General Election Strategy

Come on. He spent more than that in NH. He put $1.1 million into one ad buy and that was back in early November. The money will dry up as he continues to finish 5th-6th. HQ has made plenty of mistakes, but the message of Ron Paul just isn't being accepted. He won't finish higher than 15% anywhere.

Interestingly 15% is what you need for a third party run to be in later debates.

Listen we have ONE MONTH LEFT AND THATS IT!

Now is not the time but after Super Tuesday is.

DO you want RP to quit after Feb 5th? Because that is what will happen if dont run 3rd party.

This was the plan. He already said ALL THE WAY!! then tells the media 99.9, If he was for sure he would say NO.

We just have to keep sending him money.

we have a better chance of winning if Hillary wins than say Obama.

Here is what we(the hardcore net warriors) need to do RIGHT AWAY, start tearing appart Obama on youtube and creating videos that expose him as being worse than hillary because he lies saying he is against the war in Iraq, yet he votes for 380 billion dollars to fund it. Then we need to attack him for voting for the patriot act. Also attack him for saying that he would do nothing to stop illegals from coming in.(he said this at one of the last 2 debates!). Then we can bring up his cfr affiliation(this will be harder to sell because people are generally stupid). But we must attack him on those other big issues first.

We can easilly pump up these attack videos on youtube and get them 100,000 thousand views if we synchronize the video releases in one day like a money bomb. So when someone does an obama search, these vids show up at the top of the page. :)

Let's do this! I can't stand Obama and his fake/hyped media created push. He's such a phony and no agent for change.

ON KCET (public tv here in Irvine, CA) FIVE MINUTES AGO:

"Giuliani spent $2 MILLION in New Hampshire. He made MORE VISITS THERE than ANY other Republican candidate. He lost to Ron Paul in Iowa, maybe he he finished ahead of Ron Paul in New Hampshire, maybe he tied, maybe he came in behind." Then concerning frontrunner "Anybody could be the front-runner at this point."

They made good AND bad cases for ALL the candidates. This is what I consider NEWS REPORTING. Many don't like Giuliani's everything-on-FL strategy, pointing out that he did make a real strong effort in NH and still came in very poor.

Giuliani spent $2 MILLION in NH and made more visits than any other GOP candidate. Why is your name Ron Paul Fan when all you have to say are negative things? Troll.

I agree that Dr. Paul will not give up the fight even if he doesn't get the nomination, he has no choice but to tell the media he wont go 3rd party. As long as we fund him, he will push forward to spread the message. Yes we need to degrade Obama as much as possible too. And if they try to make me vote on one of those god damned voting machines i will literally fry the god damned thing and hand them a paper ballot, LONG LIVE THE REVOLUTION.

Give me 10% of the Neocon by Feb5th and I'll give you a president.

We won't get the GOP nomination and.....that's fine by me. This is setting up nicely in my opinion. The message is getting out and that is step one.

I didn't even know Ron Pauls name 2 months ago and now I'm making signs, pissing off my friends (who I thought were capable of independent thought) and spending less time with my significant other.

Running for the GOP is a brilliant strategic move to get on the debates and get the message out. The cat is now officially out of the bag.

Losing these primaries is completion of "Phase One" in the playbook of a successful run to the White House. Anyone who thought he would actually take over this party is seriously out of sync with the GOP's agenda. They don't want any talk of Peace or Personal Liberty.

Sorry to everyone who needs this to happen quicker! But if you seriously think Ron Paul is going to quit after the next NeoCon gets appointed for the GOP nomination, you only need to read his quote from a couple of days ago. It's up to us.

Anyone who is hung up on getting the GOP nomination or seeing this as a failure needs to dig deep and realize that time IS on our side. The longer Ron Paul stays in front of the American People the more his ideas will be understood and embraced.

The best position IS a third party run as it clearly distinguishes his views from both parties. And though it has never been done before, I feel the time is right for a viable alternate party.

Ron Paul quote from Jan 5th:

"I am in it as long as my supporters want me to be in it, and they finance the campaign, and they do that all spontaneously," he said, not overtly mentioning the $20 million his supporters donated in the final quarter of 2007, but making it clear he has political capital in a very literal sense.

I doubt there was any plan to do something like this all along, but you all have to admit that it would work out brilliantly if it happened. He could still stay a Republican and run for President as an Independent if you are worried about the 3rd-party stigma.

He already has roughly 10% of the GOP vote and if Hillary wins for the Dems he could easily pull a lot of the Obama support.

I'm not saying he could win a general election, but if the Republicans are too corrupt to back a guy like Ron Paul, why would some of you be so upset to see him continue on and keep the message going even after the primaries? If 15% is enough to get into the debates, I think he could do it. And the more he stays in the debates the more his message spreads.

Of course, all of this is a non-issue until Feb. 5. He's still in it for the GOP nomination until then.

How many hundreds or millions of times does Ron Paul have to say - NO, I WILL NOT RUN AS A THIRD-PARTY CANDIDATE - for you guys to get it through your heads:eek:

The message of Ron Paul IS being accepted. At least the parts of it that have been stolen by Huckabee and the MSM have allowed the people to hear.

MSM is playing the message through their chosen candidates because the people are receptive to it and they know its a winning message. The difference is Ron Paul means it and the others are lying so MSM has to keep the people from hearing the real messenger so they can get their pre-selected people in office.

Thats my take on this whole charade anyway FWIW.
We need to find a way to get directly to the people.

Just once - and he's never said it. He said he has no intention of running as a third party/independent at this time.

How long do you have to follow politics before you realize that admitting the possibility would be suicide for his campaign right now? And do you really believe that if he was sitting on $25 million a month from now, and his supporters were screaming for him to go independent, that he wouldn't do it?

Either that or put the $25 million to work to get Ron Paul congressmen, senators, governors, state reps, mayors, etc. elected. We need power in all branches and divisions of government, and yes, dog catcher too!

The recent financial progress report thingy that he just put out basically states it in code. He says he will not call it quits until his supporters lose confidence and stop supporting him financially. That is code for "I will stay in until the end, even if it means running third party, provided I maintain support and finances." The LP will be virtually begging and pleading him to run as their candidate after such a strong showing in the GOP primaries, PROVIDED HE STILL HAS SUPPORT AND FUNDING. So keep that money coming!

Yup.. remember, a lot of our truly great leaders were PuShEd into political office-- Ron Paul was pushed to begin this campaign in the first place. He loves this country, he would never turn his back on us. We must demand he run independent if he doesn't get the Rep. nom.

You may also note that 3rd Parties don't win elections in normal times. However if the economy tanks it is not impossible for Paul to win on his economic program.

Actually, I think this may be his strategy for winning the GOP nomination. Dr. Paul realizes that 3rd parties never win. But he also realizes that his poll numbers are way to low to have a chance of winning the GOP nomination by conventional means. So there are three things to pay attention to:

First, this is why getting RP supports to "infiltrate" and become delegates is so important. (I'm not talking about the obvious RP-pledged delegates -- I mean unpledged delegates or delegates that may have to be committed to another candidate on the first ballot.) If there is no outright majority at the convention, you have a "brokered convention" -- all commitments are off after the first ballot. And if our "stealth delegates" are there in sufficient numbers, hmm....

Second, since this "stealth strategy" only works in a brokered convention, we have to make sure that happens. (So for now, go Huck!, go Mitt!) ;) This would be a good time for Ron to go on the attack against McCain.

Third, the party and the public would have to be behind this at least somewhat to pull this off. So we need to keep spreading the word, even after the primaries go by. But realistically, this may not be enough to turn public opinion fast enough (for this election), unless we enter an economic (or foreign) crisis that dramatically proves Ron right. We all know that everything he predicted would happen is coming soon, but it isn't full-blown enough now for the public to question the establishment on a fundamental level. But when it happens, all bets are off.

In summary, the most important things we can do are to get involved in the GOP, keep canvassing and donating to the campaign, and keep spreading the message of freedom and how it has been betrayed, so when it hits the fan, people will remember us and what we have to say.

QFT!

PEOPLE, you need to PAY ATTENTION to this message >>>

So here's what happens if Ron Paul goes third party.

First, the republican party kicks him out. On his ass. I mean, this is called King Making , and it would all but gurantee that the Democrats would win.

Second, he loses the general election anyway. In some states he doesn't even get to run because he entered those states as a republican and is not the republican candidate. You'll have to write him in there.

Third, he then loses his house seat because republicans in texas are now pissed off that he's handed the election to socialists on a silver platter.

Fourth, he then gets buried by all the pundits as a wishy washer.. and he vanishes from the political mindset entirely, and his message DIES.

That's what happens right now if he goes 3rd party. The man is 72 years old. This was his swan song.

Are you guys serious? It's pretty much over for Ron Paul. Have you seen the stuff that has been dug up on him recently? It's even more crazy than some of his positions which so far have not been accepted. Two 5th place finishes and you think that's a springboard to a 3rd party run? Have you seen the polls in the upcoming primary states? Paul is running a distant 6th in all of them and will be lucky to finish above that in any of them.

Buh-bye. Don't let the door hit you on the ass on the way out.

Accept a 20 million match from FEC of US tax dollars its the only way we can get a fair shot, if everyone else is doing it even if it goes against what RP says we need to compete with a 20 million USD match, with more ATTACK ads and aggressive campaigning.

I agree 100%. Ron Paul's message is getting out. We need to stay in the race as long as possible and continue to use it as a platform to reach the masses. Ron Paul received over 60,000 votes here in Florida. We need to stop looking at the percentages and start looking at the real numbers. Ron Paul was virtually unknown one year ago. Today, Ron Paul has tens of thousands of supporters all across the nation and those numbers are growing every day.

To those of you that are getting weary, please don't abandon the campaign. Give what you can afford and help when and where you can. The economy is going into the toilet sooner rather than later and when that happens Ron Paul will receive the recognition he deserves. The MSM will be flocking to him for his wise counsel.
