Was Iran Behind the Benghazi Attack?

They openly back the militias in Iraq that attack and kill Americans and Suleymani was in Iraq to meet and work with them when he was killed.

We should not have them there but that doesn't mean we should do nothing when someone else who doesn't belong there kills them.

1) There's no evidence in those links that Iran has killed an American. They're repeating the State Dept. propaganda that he's' responsible or killing Americans but there is no evidence.

2) The troops in Iraq and the contractors are targets for the resistance so expect them to come under fire or go home in bodybags.

They caught banks laundering Iranian money to the terrorists.
And the Iranians flaunt their sponsorship of the shia militias, their propagandists usually brag about it, this discussion is like the Venezuela discussion where the enemy propaganda machine switched back and forth between telling us all was well in Venezuela and there were no shortages and telling us people were starving to death because of American sanctions not because of socialism.
Iran can't be responsible for arming and training the militias when the spin is that they are the good guys and not responsible for doing so when they kill Americans.

That doesn't mean we shouldn't defend our troops until we can bring them home.

What's the justification for killing the Iraqi militia leader? The troops should not be there in the 1st place SS, they're targets for the resistance and now they're in deeper peril unless they come home now.

The Iraqi militia leader was part of the attack on the embassy which is Sovereign US territory and that makes the attack an act of war.

You don't have to keep lecturing me about bringing the troops home, I want that and have always wanted that, but I don't want them to be allowed to be killed with impunity until we do, especially not by Iranians who shouldn't be there either.

They supplied the EFPs and funded and organized terrorist groups in Iraq.

They admit to it.

If we were to temporarily assume that the OP story is true, and the killing of Suleymani is justified because he supplied militias in Iraq that were fighting the US, wouldn’t that make the killing of Ambassador Stevens similarly justified as he was supplying militias with weapons that were fighting Syrians and Iranians?

Their not being killed by Iranians, they're being killed by Iraqi's in the resistance to the occupation.

The 'embassy' is more like a military base. It's HUGE and is seen as a legit symbol to attack by the resistance.

Iran could argue that.

But that doesn't mean we have to allow it, we have a duty to protect our people.
I don't buy the whole "we shouldn't be there so our troops are fair game and we should just ignore it when the enemy kills them" idea.

Iraqis funded, organized and coordinated by Iranians, if the Iranian wasn't there as part of it he wouldn't have been killed because he would have been someplace else.

That doesn't mean that it isn't an embassy or US sovereign territory or that we should do nothing when it is attacked.

if there is a legit threat to the embassy then the sensible thing to do is to recall the ambassador and evacuate it and LEAVE.

Who have they killed?
The new leader of Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps' elite Quds Force once boasted that U.S. troops have “suffered more losses from us than we have suffered losses from them” and has repeatedly ripped President Trump and America’s allies.
Brigadier Gen. Esmail Qaani, 62, now spearheads the special military unit following the death of Gen. Qassem Soleimani, who was killed Thursday in a U.S. airstrike at Baghdad International Airport in Iraq. He had served as Soleimani’s deputy commander since 1997 – and the Treasury Department says he has used his power to direct funding toward terrorist groups like Hezbollah.
Qaani, like many other Iranian government and military officials, also has a history of making hostile and inflammatory statements against the U.S.
“America has suffered more losses from us than we have suffered losses from them,” the Middle East Institute quoted him as saying during a 2017 ceremony in commemoration of Iranian forces and Iranian-backed militias battling in Syria and Iraq.

Absolutely correct.

We've evacuated embassies before. Sometimes for threats of violence, Other times we make a big boo-hoo about closing an embassy just to hurt the other country's feelings.

But we won't abandon this monstrosity of an "embassy" because it is not just an embassy.

It is a command base in an occupied country.

Seems to be setting a dangerous precedent. Supplying and giving aid to people who are fighting is a long international tradition. The French helped us during the Revolutionary War. We helped the Afghans fight the Soviets. There are 1000s of examples. It usually is not considered an act of war by the people doing the supplying, and those supplier nations are usually not openly attacked or killed. When it does happen, that’s when you end up with a world war.

That doesn't mean that it isn't an embassy or US sovereign territory or that we should do nothing when it is attacked.

If we are throwing all laws, rules and international standards out the window, the idea that an embassy is sovereign territory kind of goes too.

No matter what the state of laws and standards is we should not do nothing when our people are attacked.

We should bring our troops home but we must protect our people while we do.

Iran was fighting Al Queda in 2002 and ISIS currently....

What soldiers did he kill?? Let's see the "600" american Dick Cheney recycled lie

Israel has wanted this war for quite a while. Mr Israel himself has given them everything. Why not use the military power to protect our border?? Trump has been compromised or always was
