I just got off the phone with a fellow Ron Paul supporter, and she made a great point. "Rick Perry won't show up tomorrow for the debate." The guy is a coward, DeMint even allowed Perry to go first last night at the Forum, to which he declined. These fires have been going on for months. How could he even justify not attending the Forum, then two days later attend the MSNBC debate? He is just like Romney, trying to minimize damage whenever he can...

Hopefully this new AD will reel Perry in, so Ron can merk on him

Heh.. heh... give him a break, yesterday, he had to go fight fires for his subjects.

He probably just wasn't prepared for the forum.... but I bet you he spent that time preparing for the debate. He'll be there.

I have no doubt he'd just as soon not. I imagine he'd much rather find an excuse to enjoy his 'new kid on the block' popularity before he opens his mouth and shows his direct kinship to Dubya to all the world.

But, you know, he can't hide out forever.

P.S. I want to see Perry in an oxygen mask clearing brush. Then I might be willing to give him a pass...

He was still at a live town hall meeting shown yesterday morning on CNN, around 10:00 CST. At that point it was already announced he wouldn't be at the forum. Why he couldn't have just waited three more hours to aid in the fires and been first on stage and then left, I don't know.

The guy is a hack. He probably heard there was going to be constitutional questions and bailed. Typical RINO. To be honest, I think it is Romney v Paul

For some reason, and maybe it's just me, I really, REALLY doubt he is doing anything to end those wildfires. Pick up a hose, Rick! What's that, Rick? You're not really a cowboy?

OH SH*T!

Ok is this strange or what? Wasn't Bush a cheerleader from Texas as well? What are the odds of two male cheerleaders from Texas being presidential candidates? There has to be some deep ties... Maybe they were even on the same team or something? >.>

IIRC, Rand's opponent in the general election (jack conway) was a male cheerleader as well.

Yeah. The Conservatives In-The-Closet Mudwrestling team.

Not trying to defend Perry here, but I live in Texas and assure you, these fires have not been going on for months. They all started this weekend due to severe drought conditions and high winds - and most are still not contained and very dangerous.

I'm hardly a fan of Perry, but this time he did the right thing. The people of Texas pay him and they have a right to expect him to be there during a major crisis like this. If he hadn't gone to Texas he never would have lived it down.
