[Video] Rand Paul on Hannity: 'sad and cheap' for Christie to use cloak of 9/11 victims

That's where he and his Dad are alike.

Yep. And people can easily sense this. To have enough learning and previous inner dialog to be able to speak off the cuff is a rarity in American politics. I believe this is one of the reasons for Rand's popularity. And the more that people hear him, the more popular he will become. I can't think of very many political people that can do this. Pat Buchanan comes to mind. Probably Cynthia McKinney and Ralph Nader. Actually, now that I think of it, perhaps Mike Lee and even Ted Cruz.

wow rand kicked ass right there. christie cream better shut his mouth before rand delivers him a bitch slap and burries him.

I think he just did. Will be interesting to see how the Guv responds to this. I'm guessing the stress has the Guv absorbed in a meat pie and a jelly doughnut right about now.

Facebook reaction from Fox News viewers tonight? Nothing. Not a cricket chirp. This is a losing issue for Rand I believe, especially to the base that vote for the Rick Santorums, Mike Huckabees, Newts, and Mitt Romneys, and he needs better talking points and should be more serious about it (not smiling at the beginning of it). I didn't realize that Christie didn't mention Rand by name originally, it was somebody else there that asked or used Rand as an example.

Rand responding forcefully, logically, and fearlessly is VERRRY important for his presidential image and defending beliefs which a large percentage of the population agrees with only serves to gather him more interest and support. That they have begun the assault which we all know would eventually come at such an early time shows that we are #WINNING!!!!!!!!

First they ignore you, then they laugh at you, then they fight you, then you win.

Ron didn't break into them publicly fighting him until the end of the second run with all the convention shenanigans.
For Rand, the fighting has begun 3 years before the election. Thanks to Ron, the ignoring part and laughing part has been faced and overcome. All they have left is to outright fight us.

And they have a lot of money to spend and media trickery to use in the next 3 years in this fight.
And we have plenty of passion and conviction (and hopefully money) to win it.

OOOh, did you hear that? "not real smart for republicans to turn against fellow republicans"... hahaha, good job trying to usurp that schmoozy cronyist idea. You're so mainstream, Rand. *sarc

This could be a good issue for Rand, but I don't think he should bring up Sandy relief funds as somehow jeopardizing national defense. Rightly or wrongly, people love those sort of handouts the most. I can just see Christie trying to pull a Rudy moment and angrily denounce Rand for politicizing getting relief for disaster victims.

If I were him, I'd argue more for there being no need to give even more power to government, especially since this is a government conservatives don't trust. Let's have a primary where Christie can say he supported giving even more power to Obama to monitor everyone, while Rand can say he fought against it every step of the way. That's the way to win the primary. Getting involved in these debates about Sandy funding just allows Christie and his supporters to easily make emotional appeals and portray Rand as a
heartless Libertarian. And like it or not, that's going to be the avenue Christie responds from.

I would say that Rand would be better off criticizing Christie for his pro gun control stance than for the Sandy relief funding.

That was better than usual.

Agreed. Except that I was hoping he would take a second to clarify his remarks on Sandy relief by explaining (quickly & clearly) how what he was referring to how Christie went ape-shit on House Republicans over denying the Senate relief bill which contained a massive (re: $60BILLION) amount of PORK.

I would say that Rand would be better off criticizing Christie for his pro gun control stance than for the Sandy relief funding.

See comment above. Politically, Rand is smart to hit Christie on Sandy because it reminds conservative/primary voters about the thing they hate most about Christie. But I was surprised that he didn't use his time with Hannity to clarify his remarks because - as today's HuffPost spin made clear - without clarity, his words can be spun to make him seem "cruel", "hypocritical" and/or 'unsympathetic to the victims of Sandy', etc.. by leftist demagogues (and Christie, who will no doubt use the same spin in his response to Rand's comments tomorrow).

Rand staff should have no trouble coming up with a couple of talking points given the amount of ink spilled lambasting Christie for attacking the House GOP:

How about we Start a pledge to impeach every congressman who doesn't have the backbone to vote Yes to defund obamacare.
And Send the 545 Employees of OURS a real message! It is Time the Government FEARS the People again!

As I saw Rand said in another article, being quoted... "They" are throwing a target on his back here now.

This is actually a pretty damn big deal what's going on. I've been noticing they are sniping him, from verious people and throwing it out into the national headlines.

That is just how big a threat Rand and Ron are to this group of traitors in power (TIP). Tip these bastards over

New Jersey Governor Chris Christie (R) criticized libertarians, including Senator Rand Paul (R-KY), for being "dangerous." He invited Sen. Paul and others to visit with the families of 9/11 victims to talk about their stance on national security.

Tonight on Hannity, Sen. Paul said it's "not very smart" for Republicans to attack other Republicans. He said it was "sad and cheap" that Gov. Christie would use the cloak of 9/11 victims to say that he's the only one who cares about them. "Hogwash! If he cared about protecting this country, maybe he wouldn't be in this 'gimme, gimme, gimme all the money you have in Washington, or don't have,' and he'd be a little more fiscally responsive."

Sen. Paul said it's important to remember that there is a Bill of Rights and that Americans shouldn't be willing to give up all of their liberties in the name of national security. "I'm for spying on terrorists. I'm not for spying on every American." he said, referring to the NSA surveillance program.

He went on to slam Gov. Christie and his supporters for being "flippant" about privacy and the Fourth Amendment. "They do an injustice to our soldiers. Our soldiers are laying their life on the line for the Bill of Rights."

I didn't realize that Christie didn't mention Rand by name originally, it was somebody else there that asked or used Rand as an example.

I had brought that up in another thread on this subject. It's interesting that the person who prompted Christie to say "Rand" is unidentified. The transcript in this video had him as "Man".

A coordinated attack, with the first shots fired by Bill Kristol affiliated "Washington Free Beacon". They have been firing at him from all directions, using whatever operatives they can muster.
