[Video] Rand Paul on Hannity: 'sad and cheap' for Christie to use cloak of 9/11 victims

I had brought that up in another thread on this subject. It's interesting that the person who prompted Christie to say "Rand" is unidentified. The transcript in this video had him as "Man".

It was Jonathan Martin of Politico.

A coordinated attack, with the first shots fired by Bill Kristol affiliated "Washington Free Beacon". They have been firing at him from all directions, using whatever operatives they can muster.

Yeah they have, and I've been keeping my ear to the neocons that I know, and they are walking a tight rope lately. These national headlines are a stirring up of the pot that is a coordinated attack from the traitors in power. These are the times we need to circle the wagons and increase our presence and numbers. This is a very big battle that will determine the outcome.

I tell you what. Ron was awesome, but he was mostly ignored by the traitors in power (tip), Rand here is such a damn threat, the whole damn power structure is beginning to surround him, yet he is firing off upper cuts and everything else. He trully is walking a tightrope over the Grand Canyon, very different stuff we are witnessing here.

Good to know. Who is he affiliated with behind the scenes?

I don't know exactly, but pretty sure he's a typical liberal. He's been on MSNBC a lot with Chris Matthews, etc.

BTW, I just saw that he actually left Politico recently to work for the New York Times.

Agreed. Except that I was hoping he would take a second to clarify his remarks on Sandy relief by explaining (quickly & clearly) how what he was referring to how Christie went ape-shit on House Republicans over denying the Senate relief bill which contained a massive (re: $60BILLION) amount of PORK.

I'm just afraid that the way he's currently talking about his position could hurt him greatly in a general election. There's no point of winning the primary if you can't win a general election. He did worse than any of the other Republicans in a one on one race against Hillary in the last PPP poll. Like you said, he needs to do a better job of explaining his position on the relief funding for Hurricane Sandy. He was never opposed to all relief funding for Hurricane Sandy.

See comment above. Politically, Rand is smart to hit Christie on Sandy because it reminds conservative/primary voters about the thing they hate most about Christie. But I was surprised that he didn't use his time with Hannity to clarify his remarks because - as today's HuffPost spin made clear - without clarity, his words can be spun to make him seem "cruel", "hypocritical" and/or 'unsympathetic to the victims of Sandy', etc.. by leftist demagogues (and Christie, who will no doubt use the same spin in his response to Rand's comments tomorrow).

Rand staff should have no trouble coming up with a couple of talking points given the amount of ink spilled lambasting Christie for attacking the House GOP:

Good ideas. Hopefully Rand will have a chance to clarify that he is referring to all of the pork in the Sandy Relief bill.
