[Video] Rand Paul on Hannity 9/10

THURSDAY ON 'HANNITY' 10 P.M. ET FOXNEWS

Kewl, I'll watch it. Thanks for the heads up. Right now FOX is off, because they have one of their favorite sons, Chris Christie on. They love Christie, Graham, and Bush (foremost). When one of those mugs comes on, the tv station changes immediately.

Rand has great points against Trump, but he did bad at the end. Hannity, would you take in some of the refugees? Rand, I'd be careful.....
It looks bad when Rand keeps dodging these straightforward questions

Rand Paul: Once people find out about Trump's old positions, they won't support him.

Because most people won't support someone who's been on every side of every issue. Trump is this year's Mitt Romney.

He didn't dodge it. He just didn't answer it the way you wanted him to answer it.

I'm pretty sure you just argued against yourself.

I don't see what you mean. Most of Trumps supporters are low information voters who don't even realize that he's taken all of these liberal positions in the past. When he starts getting hit with millions in negative ads by PACS detailing his past liberal positions, his numbers will begin to fall significantly IMO.

Who was the GOP nominee in 2012?

Who was the GOP nominee in 2012?

Even Romney didn't take the kind of positions that Trump has taken. Romney had a record as a moderate Republican as Governor of Massachusetts. Trump has a record as a left wing Democrat previously. The guy even supported partial birth abortion at one time for crying out loud! Wait until that hits the airwaves. Trump was in favor of a single payer health care system and for Obama's massive stimulus bill. Even Romney wasn't so left wing that he supported those things.

Rand needs to get ready for a debate now standing next to Huckabee . . .
Fox is only concerned with ratings in the Trump show. Rand needs to talk about his book . . . or something else more imo.

Rand on Trump : "They like that he is angry about Washington . . ."

Rand on EU migrants, OK but he better get alot out of his chance at an internationally watched debate next week - the time is right imo.

Here is the video.

The clips starts off showing Rand saying he will support the nominee regardless. Good thing Rand does not post in these forums.

Yeah, I hear you on that.

Maybe Rand could say that "He might go along with the nominee, but don't be surprised if his supporters would probably go the "write-in" route in the general election."

The problem with this concept is that the Donald has been hit hard on these fronts all summer by the other candidates and the media, yet his shifting position history hasn't hurt him at all. Trump is running a thematic campaign (anti-establishment, PC-resistant, high-energy, etc) that is indeed attractive to low information voters who like those theatrics, and may not even care about the positions.

But it's also been attracting high-information people who like his backbone, and prioritization of cultural policy. These people are not ignorant, but tired of GOP candidates with the right positions who have come and gone, without ever changing anything. To these folks, backbone is now more important. To reach them, you have to champion Trump's themes, not carp about him being wrong on given issues.
