That's a pretty good high value option if you only vape tobacco, but it has a constant 3.7V so apparently it won't work as well for hash. Also I don't know how big of a difference a good clearomizer makes, but the one I got with my Kanger is a dual coil and I think is a bit of a step up.

The Itaste MVP and VV models look pretty good too if you're trying to stay under $40. A lot of the $30-$40 models come with multiple tanks or just come with two whole pens like that one.. my Kanger is just one battery, one clearomizer.. but it was also only $40 after I got some juice.

Have you banged around on Bakers site Danno?

Ya he has a lot of really good prices on the non-variable battery starter kits..

The one variable kit he has that I was looking at was this one:

http://www.mtbakervapor.com/e-cig-starter-kits/innokin-itaste-vv-v3-0-starter-kit/

It's a newer model from them and a lot of people like it.. But for some reason it is expensive on his site, I've seen it for under $40 altho I don't know what he charges for shipping..and he also throws in a free ejuice which is nice.

The main reason I didn't get that kit was cause somebody reviewed it and said they weren't a big fan of the clearomizers and to get a kanger clearomizer to go with it.. So I would have ended up spending more, but apparently the battery on this one is really good, has an automatic ohm checker which I'm not sure why that is good but it is... and it looks like you get 5 "dual coil" clearomizers, which I'll bet are probably fine, but I wanted to have a really solid clearomizer if I was going to be spending ~$40 on a vape.

Looks like the ejuices are pretty cheap too?

Another thing that helped me make the switch away from analogs, was a little bit of knowledge. Apparently the nicotine uptake is a more gentle curve than an analog. Instead of blood nicotine concentrations spiking up like a rocket within 3-5 seconds on the first puff, it picks up gently over 40-ish seconds to the same place. Just that knowledge alone helped me to 'understand' how it was working, and instead of expecting a 3 second smack in the face and getting disappointed, now I expect a 40 second gentle rise and I'm as happy as can be.

I had already switched when I read this, but this knowledge is kind of a big deal.

My Kanger is gurgling and I'm troubleshooting that.. but otherwise it works pretty damn good..

And I just realized what flavor one of my e liquids is :D

Hold it by the battery and shake it like an old mercury thermometer, use a Q-tip to swab out the excess juice from the mouthpiece..

Wait until you hear the coil snap-crackling before hitting gently and they usually won't flood...

Meh, I will stick with my cigars. Much more better.

If you're going to go, go all the way.

Gave up cigars a few years ago, save on rare and special occasions, but I still burn a nail once in a while with my friend Mike.

Shoot, it's not like I want to live forever... though I will sorely miss good music and blacksmith work. And my wife. Will miss her a lot.

Edit - I worked through my issues and have quit cigs I detailed how i worked though my issues in post #66 of this thread > http://www.ronpaulforums.com/showth...ums-unite!-D&p=5817966&viewfull=1#post5817966

I just spent over 200 bucks at a local place called Steel City Vapors, and after 2 days with it I still cant get a decent hit off this pos.

I got an Innokin Itazte 134, 2 batteries, charger, an aspire nautilus adjustable airflow tank, and 2 bottles of juice.

Either nothing comes out at all, or it comes out way to hot and harsh to inhale, and I can easily inhale heavy cigars.

Hopefully they will take it back but they didn't give me a reciept so i think I'm sol, LAME

It took me a couple days or so to get the hang of mine..

It still hits me kinda harsh, but no more harsh than any other tobacco product... I was getting thin clouds before however now I am able to get a really large, thick cloud just with a mouth hit.. In fact, sometimes I'll just take the mouth hit like a cigar and blow it all out, nothing in the lungs. After a few hits, I start feeling the trademark nicotine tingle in my mouth and I start getting buzzed.. In fact, too much so for my tastes... I'm going to move down from 12 mg to 6 mg nicotine, but as with all substances I am a huge light-weight.

So the way I was able to get the thicker hits coming in was pressing the button for a half second, then sucking in SLOWLY into the mouth.. If you have strong lungs you can take it straight to the lungs. It's almost like the device is pushing the smoke thru but I'm actually just taking a nice slow draw. I think that is one of the keys, is to take a slow draw and the cloud will really thicken.

Did you get 100% VG?

The bottle I opened is 50/50 mix by True, called Melted Chocolate and the logo looks like the Periodic Table/Breaking Bad stylized Mc.

I've tried the techniques you describe, every wattage while adjusting the air resistance on the tank in every position, the most restrictive actually feels like you are drawing on a nicely packed bowl, and the most open position feels like suckin on a dry straw. Ive tried tapping it intermittently which sux cause when you tap it three times it completely powers off so you have to be real careful with the timing.

... and it is just so hard to believe when it does make vapor I cant inhale it. I smoke cigars and pipes like cigarettes, most smokers have a hard time smoking my roll your owns (The Good Stuff brand tobacco).

How much nic does the juice have? I've noticed then when you have a huge cloud with a really high nic it will burn like hell. Your rig sounds like it doesn't do much of anything except big clouds. I'd say either try a really really low nic and see what happens, or try a rig that lets you do smaller clouds.

Also, hot and too harsh to inhale sounds like burnt juice. If that's what it is, then you really don't want to inhale that stuff. Could be your coil is burning too hot and burning the ejuice. Wish you had a 'normal' tester handy to see if that's what the issue is. :-/ burned ejuice is not good for you, and that is usually what makes it hot and very harsh.

On the other hand, my mother has a hard time handling any ejuice that has nic in it. She's a smoker for 45 years. The nic makes her cough.

18mg

I figured if I didn't get the high, I would just end up smokin a cigarette every time I put it down.

Yikes I better quit tryin to hit this thing then lol

I am led to understand there are two kinds. "normal" clouds and 'huge' clouds. If you get the one with huge clouds, then the nic levels effectively double, which a 36 would burn like hell. So that could be it too.

Well went back Steel City Vapors and the guy there took some giant Snoop Dog hits off of it and said it was "a little bit harsh" but I should be able to hit it. Then he asked me to try hitting it so i tried and started coughing and he just stared at me for a while. I asked if that was it and he said we could adjust the draw on the atomizer. I asked to return whatever i could and he said they don't take returns (guess that explains why I didn't get a reciept) so I left.

I found another place called Up in Smoke Vapors Cafe it was a bit of a drive though. I went in and stood at the counter forever, while some guy is talking flavors and recommending stuff and letting the guy smell the bottles. I'm thinking this is great this place seems to care much more about the customers, hopefully they can tell me what nic level to get and help me find a flavor I might like.

A guy finally comes over and asks how I'm doing, I say fine explain the situation tell him i think maybe the nicotine is too high. "Ya it sounds like the nic might be to high", he says and looks at me for a minute, so I tell him the one i tried is 18 mg and describe my smoking habits and ask what level he would recommend. He responded with 1 word "lower", so I asked how low and he says the lowest is a 6 he then asks what flavor I want and I say I don't know so he puts a menu on the table. I look at it for a min and while some of it are flavors i like in food, they don't sound like an ideal smoke, so I go to ask the guy what he would recommend and hes gone bs'in with some guy.

I stand there for a while those other 2 guys are still talkin and sniffin bottles. As I'm waiting I start thinking about the nicotine levels again. 6 just sounds too low for some reason, I decide to just leave. Before I pulled out, I decided I came too far to go home empty handed just to order something online, and wait a couple days more, even if the flavor isn't ideal sounding.I google nic level selection, found a site that said 18 mg is for a regular cigarette smoker which confused me even more.

I go back in and I actually get waited on pretty quick this time a different guy gives me the menu and I decide to get a 6 and whatever the next level up is and he asks me "9?". I say I dunno whatever the next level up is, he looks at me like I'm supposed to know, and I get a little upset and say, "I don't know what ever the next higher level is" and someone next to hims says yes 9.

So I left with 1 fruit stripes gum 9 mg 50/50 pg/vg and 1 custards revenge 6 mg 35/65 pg/vg...

...and they still are still too hot harsh to hit.

Sorry guys at $250 in the hole here, I don't think I get to join the club lol

If it's the first time you are using the coil unit, you should hit it a couple times without firing it; this will make sure the wicks are saturated.

I normally just do the clear liquids, with a clearomizer, you can see the liquid near the coil start to turn brown after 2 or 3 refills. When it gets like this, it will have a burnt taste, so I will take the coil off and clean the wicks. After 20 or 30 refills, I change out the coil unit completely.

If you hit it too hard, you will not get as much vapor. With a clear tip, you can look in the mirror and see what you need to do to get the most out of it.

Hmm ya I can't tell for sure what the deal is.. It could just be you have high expectations and are trying to be the man and do massive snoop dog hits and maybe there is also some component of the vape/e juice/nic level/pg or maybe you need to work up to it or maybe that just isn't gonna be your vaping style if you do end up vaping. I mean, the point is to have it be something you enjoy doing, that delivers the nicotine to your body in the amount that you like without suffering and without too much wasted expense so I see where you're coming from.

I personally am not a great smoker, my lungs have always been pretty sensitive. I can take some pretty good average+ bongloads but I can't smoke more than a few cigs in a day without my lungs being really angry at me for at least a day after, I quit cigs cause even one noticeably affects my lungs the next day.

I had a hard time vaping the 12 mg into my lungs, but as I said I could take massive hits into my mouth like how you are supposed to smoke a cigar and after 4 or 5 hits my mouth would get really tingly and I would start getting too light headed.. I actually wanted to vape more cause it tasted good but had to stop. I could take a small amount of vapor into my lungs but I had to do so pretty carefully, so I mostly stuck to mouth hitting cuz that was more than enough nicotine wise.

So I got some 6 mg 20/80 pg/vg ecto-cooler from mt baker and this stuff tastes awesome.. kinda like a orange creamsicle. I can also smoke on it for 5-10 hits, do massive mouth hits and I can take quite a bit more vapor into my lungs.. but I still can't take thick clouds I'm ok with that tho. I seem to be getting closer tho. So far I'm not noticing any longterm effects on the lungs either. I enjoy vaping the 6 mg nic level a lot better, I might even try 3 mg. It's more like smoking a cig, keeps you busy a little longer and I'm still getting more than enough nic.
