National Security & Defense
Providing safety and security to the people of the United States is one of the fundamental responsibilities of the national government and is a paramount priority. A strong military is essential to our security. Americans should enjoy the protection provided by their government from attacks from hostile nations and terrorists alike.
Our challenge as a nation is to respond responsibly and quickly (within the parameters of the Constitution) to changing realities and threats to our national security. Terrorism, whether state-sponsored or not, poses our gravest national security threat today. Rogue nations, including North Korea and Iran, are also a threat. As your United States Senator I will:
Ensure that proven and imminent threats to our national security be dealt with swiftly and decisively and with authorization of Congress, not the United Nations.
Commit that when putting our troops in harms way that it be done with a clear set of objectives, solely for the purpose of our national security, and with Congressional authorization.
Pursue a missile defense system that was first proposed by President Reagan.
It was never Radke. She has zero support and won't get many votes at all. Her top success is that she ran a local Tea Party group, which she used to prop herself up and promote her own campaign, and now many people from that very group disavow her.
Let's examine Bob Marshall's record and look at the facts:
He was the sole reason the anti-NDAA bill, anti-REAL ID bill, and Health Care Freedom Act passed. He authored, sponsored and fought hard to push through this legislation.
He is very open and transparent, look at the bills he's introduced to double the fine for violating the Freedom of Information Act and for expanding it to every facet of government. He's introduced a bill to let citizens file complaints against unethical legislators. He's all about open government and freedom of information. He even introduced a resolution condemning the Republican leadership for being non-transparent.
I might add, he also introduced a bill for alternative currency if the Fed colapses, oh, and in 1995 he introduced ANTI-FEDERAL RESERVE legislation calling on the fed government to stop monetizing its debt (this was before anti-Fed stances were popular).
He's also introduced bills to expand the rights of felons wrongfully convicted by the government and to allow judges to tell jurors that an innocent man had been executed in Virginia before.
Above all that, he voted for RP in 2008 and 2012.
I don't see the comparison here.
Isn't George Allen the nominee for senate? (Virginia primary has passed) I can't find polls showing how Bob Marshall is doing.
I'm a new to the forum, so I'm not allowed to post a link, but for a video you can go to YouTube and type in "Delegate Bob Marshall Talks about the Indefinite Detention Possibilities in the NDAA." And here is an email that someone forwarded to me:
Dear Fellow Patriot,
When Obama signed the 2012 National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) into law, a shadow was cast over the United States Constitution. A chill shuddered through the body of American law that is supposed to protect U.S. citizens against a dark world where arrests can occur without formal charges, where detentions can be open-ended and habeas corpus is but a quaint legal relic of the past.
Who was the first defender of liberty to come to the fore to fight against such un-American legislation as NDAA? It was Delegate Robert G. Marshall of the 13th District of the Virginia House of Delegates, a legislative body rich with a history of defending liberty! Marshall himself is a lawmaker in the grandest tradition of some his immortal predecessors in that body.
Bob Marshall’s leadership capabilities were never in better form than when he wrote Virginia’s new Anti-Detention law, moved it patiently and skillfully toward bipartisan support in both houses of the General Assembly and then on to the Governor’s desk where it was signed into law! This legislative initiative by Bob Marshall leads the way among all the states in refusing to cooperate with the unconstitutional detention provision of the NDAA.
Now, other states are following Virginia’s lead….following Bob Marshall’s lead.
Here’s Bob to tell you more of the story in his own words. [This links to the YouTube video.]
On June 12th please vote for Bob Marshall. Let’s put him on guard in Washington in defense of our most cherished liberties!
Yours for Liberty,
Bob Allen
