The countries in the region are saying there was no nuclear explosions.

A nuclear weapon even a small one would have been easily detected by the earthquake it produces.

Even the smallest nukes ever created have a kill radius larger than a square mile.

It seems to me that the net effect the federal government of the US has had on the world since the advent of nuclear weapons, has been to contribute enormously to their proliferation both inside and outside the US. And we shouldn't neglect the question of why Iran is hostile to the US in the first place. I bet that Switzerland isn't worried about being nuked by Iran.

If the US wants to lead the way to a world that is much less likely to suffer enormous losses due to nuclear weapons, it can start by greatly reducing its own arsenal, and attaining a level of moral legitimacy when it tries to convince other countries they don't need them. And it can follow that up by not habitually ruining other countries and making enemies around the world.
