Unofficial Trump/Biden 9/29 debate thread.

What do you guys have to say about Trump not condemning white supremacy? Trump's response was sure he will do it, but then he said "stand by".
Why should Trump denounce white supremacists? Asking him if he would denounce them is an insinuation that he doesn't denounce them, when in fact there is zero evidence that he endorses any white supremacist group

Anyone in politics knows that when an opponent asks you such a question, what they are really trying to do is define who you are.

By answering such a question, that is exactly what you are letting your opponent do: define you.

In politics, you never let your opponent define you.

If he does denounce them, then people will ask, why is he denouncing white supremacists? Does he have a past of endorsing them? If he didn't have a past of endorsing them, then why is he denouncing them now?

It opens up doubt in the minds of supporters and potential supporters. It's a political trick.

It's like those reverse mortgage commercials. In them they say “A reverse mortgage isn't some way to take your home.” Well if it isn't, then why are you even saying that it isn't? Do you have some reputation for taking peoples homes? If you don't, then why are you even bringing it up. When everyone knows, that is exactly what a reverse mortgage is.

The proper thing to do, is do exactly what Trump is doing. Denounce ALL types of groups that promote such ideas.

They pulled this same shit on Ron.

Trump has already denounced white supremacy several times. He literally disavowed the KKK during his 2016 campaign.

As I said on Saturday, we condemn in the strongest possible terms this egregious display of hatred, bigotry, and violence. It has no place in America.

And as I have said many times before: No matter the color of our skin, we all live under the same laws, we all salute the same great flag, and we are all made by the same almighty God. We must love each other, show affection for each other, and unite together in condemnation of hatred, bigotry, and violence. We must rediscover the bonds of love and loyalty that bring us together as Americans.

Racism is evil. And those who cause violence in its name are criminals and thugs, including the KKK, neo-Nazis, white supremacists, and other hate groups that are repugnant to everything we hold dear as Americans.

We are a nation founded on the truth that all of us are created equal. We are equal in the eyes of our Creator. We are equal under the law. And we are equal under our Constitution. Those who spread violence in the name of bigotry strike at the very core of America.

Just had a bunch of leftists ranting that he has never condemned racism. Brought this up. They just say "I'll never believe that. He's a raciss. He's lying!"

These people a fucking insane.

You summed it up with a nice little bow. +rep.

Yep. His left eye looked dead, multiple times. Scary

Not fit to be in office...that said Trump looked like a spoiled kid with his uncontrollable rantings & interruptions

Very bad night for America.

Biden will be a bad presdient if he calls out Trump that way how does he expect to handle world leaders like Putin and Chinese gov?

I saw a video on FB where Wallace asked Trump pretty much the same question in the 2016 Republican debate as he did in this debate. A side-by-side comparison. It wasn't a you tube link, but I'll try to track it down tomorrow.

This seems like the same thing that happened last time.

Hillary tried to come out on the first debate looking Presidential, but Trump came out like a bull. This caused Hillary to bring more of that type of energy into the next rounds of debates.

By the final debate, even the left was saying that Trump was more reserved and Presidential sounding, after he dragged Hillary down into the mud with him.

Last time around I didn't watch the debates, I really can't stand to watch Hillary Clinton. Biden doesn't sicken me the way Hillary does. Biden's kinda funny, I like how he's making himself more like a limited functionality cyborg. The tech isn't there. They can't get the eyes looking right, for one.

Perhaps by the 3rd debate Trump will knock Biden to the ground and start kicking him in the head. "Stop sniffing little girls" "You and all your friends are going to jail." "you suck you suck you suck you suck" "stop destroying America". But calmly and Presidentially.

Funny how they won't believe that, but they will believe the lying leftist media who pretends that statement, and the many others like it don't exist.

The claimed story after 2016 was that Trump won because the working class moderate voter decided to give Trump a chance, instead of another Clinton Beltway retread. "How bad could he be?" was the question. Unless that same moderate voting group that's willing to vote for either party candidate has been fully indoctrinated into Trumpism, that outcome is subject to change every election.

You misunderstand the situation. "Trumpism" is the working class. Trump saw an opportunity to appeal to millions of people who had no voice and were not represented by anyone in Washington. Whether he truly believes in a working class agenda (anti-war, populist economics, reduced immigration, etc.) or not is irrelevant. If you find "Trumpism" distasteful or repugnant, then maybe your problem isn't with Trump himself, but an entire socio-economic class of Americans.

(Now, back in the real world, it's all rigged any way. No CEO of a corporation (US Inc) is ever appointed by the employees. The Board of Directors appoints CEOs. Employees may get a preference vote but that's all it is. A giant non-binding straw poll.)

I sympathize with this argument. However, most people choose blue, red or white pills. Very few enjoy the black one.

Biden told so many blatant lies. This video doesnt even catch them all but exposes them well.
