Sadly, Trump did it to himself. This is a smart man, so leading me to wonder why he did it. Is he really so weak in his ego that he could not see what he was doing? It is difficult to believe it, especially given that he really is a decent man. Is he playing another strategy? Plausible, but I don't see how it could be of real advantage.

One suggestion I've heard which seems plausible is that he was trying to exacerbate Biden's stutter through constant interruption, hoping to create soundbytes or clips of him stammering or seeming incoherent.

If that is in fact so, I can only assess that move as a gross miscalculation. It doesn't seem in Trump's character. Then again, politics seems to turn just about everyone to shyte.
