TX - 21 Dead, Dozens Injured in Texas Elementary School Shooting

To paraphrase Michael Malice: "There is no breaking of the law so obscene that the police are unwilling to ignore it, up to and including the mass execution of innocent children."

IOW: "He argued that his priority should be saving those who are not in danger."

It's much safer for the LEOs that way. You know, making sure they all come home safe and all that.

Gun grabbers are gearing up to exploit the Uvalde incident (surprise! surprise!).

You see, AR-15s are scary, and you shouldn't be allowed to have one - because cops are cowards (yes, that's really their lead-off hook/justification).

Here's the first tweet of a thread to that effect from the Texas Tribune:

I won't bother reproducing the whole thread here, as it's basically just a regurgitation of all the usual gun-grabber fear porn, and has little to do with the actual events of that awful day (except insofar as those events serve as an excuse for all the pearl-clutching).

Follow the previous link to see the whole thread (and get a link to the Texas Tribune's corresponding article, if you care to read it).

Meanwhile, here's some palate-cleanser from GOA (and GOA's Senior Vice President):

I suppose that it is a fitting and ironic end for the NRA that they became the sacrificial anode to further their gun-grabbing, and federalist agenda.

Do they still hold the title of the nation's largest gun control organization?

Something tells me that they are actually third largest....

Behind the Democrat Party.

and the Republican Party.

“asked for a supervisor’s permission”.
“lost momentum”.

Yep.

My understanding of the police training is that everyone has a responsibility to take action. Everyone is required to be a leader. Waiting is not on the list of options. CYA and “permission” are not part of the training. But human nature is far stronger than any training.

When there is a real leader or two among the troops...

Bodycam Footage Of The Hero Cops Who Took Down Nashville School Shooter

So apparently, "assault" rifles need to be banned because these cops were cowards - and just never you mind that:

(1) a criminal willing to murder 19 children isn't going to give a damn about any such ban in the first place, and
(2) cowards are not going to stop being cowards just because a criminal is armed with a banned "assault" rifle instead of a legal one.

Brand new Uvalde law enforcement body camera footage shows officers vomiting and sobbing outside after they entered the classroom.

After a months long investigation into why police hesitated during the Uvalde school shooting, the answer is the police were afraid to confront the killer’s AR-15.

This raises a very important question, if police are too afraid to confront an AR-15 where does that lead the rest of us?

Nearly 400 law enforcement officers were implicated in the poor response that left 19 children dead.

It’s time to ban assault rifles.

I can't believe I'm saying this. But, Uvalde was even worse than we've been told.

We knew about the 376 cops on the scene who did not go into the class for 77 mins.

Assoc Attorney Gen Gupta today said the "pain, failures & missteps" did not end when they finally went in.

Because there was no leader, there was no plan to triage victims.

"Without appropriate precautions, victims who had already passed away were taken to the hospital in ambulances while children with bullet wounds were put on school buses without any medical attention," she said.

"In the commotion, one adult victim was placed on a walkway - on the ground - outside to be attended to," Gupta said. "She died there."

And the reunification and notification process was also chaotic. Gupta said families received unclear and often conflicting information.

"Hours after the shooting an official incorrectly told families, waiting for their children at the civic center, that an additional bus of survivors was coming. It did not," Gupta said.

Watch Gupta's full statement here. But be warned, this is heartbreaking stuff. Those Uvalde families deserved so much better. So much.
