So what is the actual fuck up in this case? Sorry for being someone who actually cares about the truth. People are pushing for actual policy changes based on BS narratives. Let's say a President Occam's Banana had been elected in 2021. What exactly would have done differently to prevent this tradgedy?

1) Stayed in Afghansitan longer?
2) Left the poor bastards who fought for us to die in Afghanistan?
3) Made sure that all of the Afghan refugees were left indefinitely in some other country to make this its problem?
4) Done some magical "vetting" that would have picked up what couldn't have actually been picked up in 2021? (That this man would have been "radicalized" sometime after coming to the U.S.)

Of course the real winner would be not arming the Mujahadeen back in the 1970s but my magical time machine only goes back to the beginning of the Biden administration.

I don't give a rat's ass about Trump or Biden. I do care about bad policy. Yep. Biden should have done the withdrawal better. He shouldn't have closed down Baghram Air Force Base before the evacuation was complete and the evacuation should have been done from there instead of from the Karzai airport. That would have saved the lives of the 13 marines. But unless whoever was president was a heartless a$$hole, this young man, who was 15 or 16 when he was recruted to be CIA specops, would still have been let into the U.S. and this tragedy still likely would have happened. The issue isn't the withdrawal or the vetting. The issue is what happened after he got here. Have you even looked into that or to you prefer analysis that fits into a X post or on a bumper sticker?

That region is ruled by warlords.

That region has never been a unified territory and it isn't unified today either.

The region ruled by a democracy surrendered their rule to the Taliban.
