I think what people are most afraid of is that they'll have to admit they were, at least somewhat, wrong about Trump. I don't care if you are libertarian, conservative, or liberal, having to admit you were wrong is a humbling and sometimes humiliating experience. It's the price a person must pay for having strong opinions.
