Trump to address LP 2024 national convention

Party of zero presidential wins and zero members of Congress, maybe take some advice on how to win. Only reason to even talk about the boring irrelevant party convention is because Trump is there.

They know how to win. Go diddle a little girl under Mossad's cameras and you'll get enough campaign cash to be a shoo-in. Help the Democrats do their bull and you'll stay in, too.

Normally Id agree with it 100 percent but since Massie , Paul ( and Swami , for kids) ) are going to be at convention it gives it street cred even if trump not invited, so tuff call

Trumps speech is live on Cspan right now.

Trumps speech is live on Cspan right now. ("Libaterians") There's some cheering, but a lot of booing, and yelling too. I heard "End the Fed" chants at one point. There are a lot of "Free Ross" signs... "Free Ross!" chants right now... ah, Trump just said "He's already served 11 years. We're gonna get him home."
"End the Fed!" chants again.

He's requesting they nominate him - or - at least give him their vote, which seems to draw a lot of boos. Trump not getting all the love he usually does, from this crowd.

update: Done.

This was so much better than a normal political rally. There was real energy in the room, real engagement, etc. I can tell Trump felt like he was reaching for a life-ring a few times in his speech, but it's worth paying that price to engage with vibrant political energy that isn't just personality-cult. I'm willing to bet that many who booed Trump in that crowd are going to end up voting for him in November due to his promise to commute Ulbricht's sentence. Also, his promise to put a libertarian in his cabinet is unprecedented, to my knowledge, no R/D candidate has ever promised that. So, that's a guaranteed win for the LPNC, it's a no-brainer. We just don't have the numbers to get our own POTUS candidate elected to anything more than a footnote in the 2024 election. Getting a libertarian in the WH at the secretary level is real power, at the Federal level. The LP would be retarded not to take that offer.

Of course, the contrarian-libertarians are going to "stand on principle" anyway, and nothing can be done about them. Just my opinion. I would much rather actually have a seat at the table than just cheer from the sidelines and hope that the libertarian voice is heard in a Trump 47 administration. Everybody with an ounce of sense should be able to see that this is a great bargain for libertarians, as a party.

Well, there...he showed up, presented a pretty routine stump speech, outlined his position, asked for votes and left.

The earth did not fall out of orbit.

There it is folks, if you can keep from crying after being called losers to your face, you can vote to free Ross Ulbricht.

Edward Snowden? Crickets. Julian Assange? Crickets. The pirate guy who can afford to bribe him?

Um, yay?

Stuff that turkey.

Well. That's different...

The Second Coming right around the corner and you want a seat at the devil's table.

Um, dude. Secret ballot. He's never going to know if we voted for him or not. Watch this campaign promise go exactly where all those 2016 promises went.

The wonderful thing about democracy is everyone can fiddle while Rome burns.

Well, if the second coming is right around the corner, it won't matter if we have a seat. And if the Lord should tarry, then yes, I prefer to at least have a seat in the cabinet of POTUS which, for all its evils, has got nothing on the prince of darkness.

everyone can fiddle while Rome burns.

I mean, do you have any better ideas between now and November? There's 2028, as well, so I'm not opposed to planning from scratch for that. Or even 2032. But there have to be some positive, concrete ideas including path-to-success. "Educating people" is not it, at least, that's not what the LP should be doing. The Mises Institute has been quietly seeding the conditions for a true revolution for liberty in this country for decades. The LPMC takeover of the LP is a fruit of that labor. And because of this, the LPMC understands that the job of the LP isn't to "educate", it's to effect political change in the direction of liberty, at all levels of government, everywhere across the nation, in the most effective way possible. We're not interested in "ramming liberty down people's throats"; the purpose of education is to get them to want it again; and the purpose of the LP is to get all the liberty that the market will bear.

... being called losers to your face...

It's an objective fact that the LP are losers at the national level. We don't need to dwell on it and get all black-pilled, but if you're going to boo Trump for taking the time to come and speak at your convention, so you don't have to go to a regular rally with everybody else, then don't whine and cry when he points out that you're losers. Fair is fair...

I dont see how Trump thinks that adding Niki Haley would be a good..
That already isn't a Libertarian decision.

He'll probably make her an ambassador, not sure if Swordsmyth's prediction of Elbonia is correct... maybe China?

I'm surprised the Libertarian Party, as far as it has strayed away from its principles, actually booed Trump.

Trump is very very far from an ideal candidate. But he fulfills my 3 criteria: didn't take more of my $ in taxes, didn't take my guns, didn't start/expand stupid wars.

Thanks, dannno. I needed that.

You should pursue a career in comedy. It takes real talent to say China and a name Scott Adams made up in the same sentence with a straight face. It really does. And suggesting appointing a warmongering neocon MIC stooge as ambassador to one of the most powerful nations on earth is definitely cute.

I suppose you're going to tell us WWIII will be good for the economy now?
