This was so much better than a normal political rally. There was real energy in the room, real engagement, etc. I can tell Trump felt like he was reaching for a life-ring a few times in his speech, but it's worth paying that price to engage with vibrant political energy that isn't just personality-cult. I'm willing to bet that many who booed Trump in that crowd are going to end up voting for him in November due to his promise to commute Ulbricht's sentence. Also, his promise to put a libertarian in his cabinet is unprecedented, to my knowledge, no R/D candidate has ever promised that. So, that's a guaranteed win for the LPNC, it's a no-brainer. We just don't have the numbers to get our own POTUS candidate elected to anything more than a footnote in the 2024 election. Getting a libertarian in the WH at the secretary level is real power, at the Federal level. The LP would be retarded not to take that offer.
Of course, the contrarian-libertarians are going to "stand on principle" anyway, and nothing can be done about them. Just my opinion. I would much rather actually have a seat at the table than just cheer from the sidelines and hope that the libertarian voice is heard in a Trump 47 administration. Everybody with an ounce of sense should be able to see that this is a great bargain for libertarians, as a party.
