Unless you've had your head in the sand, you know that Donald Trump has reversed his positions on Immigration, Obamacare, and funding Planned Parenthood somewhat recently. His most recent change was to call for defunding Planned Parenthood, but even that position didn't last but a couple weeks or so. He now says that because he believes there are good things about Planned Parenthood, he would be willing to continue to give them access to taxpayer funds.
When every position of importance is new to a candidate, and he can't even stand by them for a month, you must question the sincerity of it all. I've concluded the Donald is good at selling whatever he says, and I do not believe he is sincere about any of those three big issues. He has laid out strong arguments in recent years completely contrary to his present positions (I should say temporary positions in light of the PP funding 180, followed by another 180).
We shall see how gullible the voters are.
Don't worry, I'll expect the arguments of 'he doesn't take any cuff from ... etc.' and, 'we're tired of ...' Yep. He does love to argue in defense of whatever he's selling at the moment. That's true. Let that sink in ... If you've let that sink in, you know it means he's not sincere, which means you know for an absolute fact that he cannot be trusted. So, please spare me the drama. There is no argument that could be made to convince me he is sincere, and can be trusted to do what he says he will.
I'd offer the question another candidate asked last Thursday: "What are the principles that guide you?" The only principle I can imagine consistent with his behavior is the principle of, "I must have my way." That will not serve us well, as "his way" is all about (as he argued Thursday when explaining why he's benefited so much at the expense of other businesses and taxpayers via bankruptcy) adding more $Billions to his name.
There's nothing wrong with having such a strong profit motive. But, in my presidential candidate, I want to know there are principles guiding them that will lead them where they need to be for our nation's sake.
