Trump has a plan to end Washington corruption--instead of letting robber barons choose your crooked politicians for you, just elect the robber baron! That way the robber barons can cut out the middleman and save money! Won't the nation be a better place when building a casino and competing with Trump is against federal law?

As far as actually helping Rand, I think this does nothing and maybe hurts him since he isn't going to win over Trump voters by attacking him and even if he succeeds in damaging the Trump brand those voters aren't going to go to Rand. They're going to go Ted Cruz or Ben Carson or Mike Huckabee or wherever, I think Rand would of been better off trying to position himself to scoop up Trump voters for when/if his candidacy blows up as Cruz is doing, The establishment and mushy moderates aren't going to support Rand as the "reasonable alternative" and it is dumb to even try, they have way more preferable options for themselves, they'll definitely utilize Rand tho, kills two birds with one stones by taking the blood off the hands for going after Trump and damages the Paul/libertarian brand with the rebelling segment of the GOP. Saves them the trouble of having their own establishment candidate getting put thru the ringer by Trump, why do you think they're all afraid to attack him?

I want those few Republicans who not only want to win in the general election of November 2016, but are willing to do what it takes to achieve that, to breathe a big sigh of relief and silently thank God for Rand Paul.
That splash will have ripples that will spread out in spite of Fox and the rest of the liberal media, and Rand Paul will become the savior to every Republican with more than three brain cells to rub together.

I think your overestimating how much credit Rand will get for "taking down" Trump, the people that hate Trump are the same people that hate Rand. Charles Krauthammer isn't going to be won over by Rand if he damages Trump, he's just going to say 'thanks, glad my guy didn't have to do it". Rand is never going to be seen as the reasonable electable alternative, he needs to tap into the the same anger that Trump is because the establishment voters and those that only care about beating Hillary already have plenty of other candidates to support. We need the voters that are opting out, the people that rebelling against the party. Being the Trump hatchet man is not going to win over that segment of the vote in my opinion.

And the only thing that will keep Rand Paul from being perceived as the reasonable, electable alternative is if we are stupid enough to stop countering the MSM lies and informing Republicans of the genuine facts that he is reasonable, electable, and the only alternative to losing again.
You seem to think the media are the Republican Party. The only media outlet that pretends to be Republican is Fox, and people are finally figuring out that Fox is just the Liberal Media Controlled Opposition Division, and encouraging Republicans to shoot themselves in the foot is what they were created to do. No, the Republican Party is tens of millions of Americans who are actually sick of losing these presidential elections. And they outnumber Krauthammer by more than fifty million to one.

This would be a perfect time for a PAC to spend some money attacking Trump on being a liberal. Rand needs Trump to go down NOW, not later. He cannot wait because Fox and Bush will not take Trump down. They love the role he is playing right now.
Why are they going to back Rand? It makes no sense, Rand doesn't become king of the mountain for knocking Trump off it. The Republicans that want a "reasonable alternative that can win" will back Jeb or Walker or Rubio and the miffed Trump supporters will migrate to Cruz and Carson. How is Rand going to win over voters and turn his favorables around doing this? I just think it is a losing strategy.

Real Republicans want to win. Those with a few brain cells to call their own can already see just how big a landslide they will get buried under if Trump is nominated.
It's called gratitude. It's called showing that you have the will and the plan to win. It's called not playing scaredy cat politics and kowtowing to the party's loudest idiots and instead leading the party to victory.
They fell for the Fox 'nominate a RINO, call him moderate, and lose to the Democrat who's just honest enough to call himself a Democrat' plan twice now. Surely they're ready to learn better. The third time's the charm.
Why are you carrying on about this? Surely you can see Rand has committed himself to this tactic. The worst thing he could possibly do now is try to backpaddle out of it. Be it brilliant or be it stupid, he's committed. All we can do now is try to help him make it work.

Rand apparently misunderstood the American people, he thought the wanted to fight the Washington Machine, but what they really want is to be part of that machine and get something for themselves out of it. Apparently, they think Trump will do that for them. So very sad....
