Trump floats eliminating U.S. income tax and replacing it with tariffs on imports

It's really very simple:

Tariffs are constitutional.

Tariffs on hostile powers reduce their influence over a free and independent United States.

Tariffs, by their nature, are transparent and force the national government to run within it's means.

Tariffs promote domestic industry and production, thus providing more and better paying middle class incomes.

Tariffs prevent the import of cheap and, in many cases, slave labor produced goods, thus removing the primary "smoke screen" that has allowed the Fed to devalue the money supply without significant increases in prices.

That never eliminates the IRS. Raising that income figure only ever prolongs it, keeping people from revolting until the inflation -- and it's not Bidenflation any more, now it's Trumpflation -- makes those same working poor taxpayers again.

The income tax started as a tiny percentage on only the very rich, then it moved downwards and to ever higher rates.
Reversing that is the way to get rid of it.

Trump started with no tax on tips, Social security, and overtime.
Now he's moving to 93% of taxpayers below $150,000 in income, once that's done the people will support eliminating it entirely and repealing the 16thA so it can never return.

He also needs to do it in stages so he can replace the revenue with cuts and tariffs, which he is already making progress on.

He's not preserving anything, he's rolling it back.
You are mad he is getting rid of it, but your whole cover here is to attack any progress by making the impossible perfect the enemy of the workable good.

No, you made a bald assertion that was plausible (if unlikely) when he just got rid of it for tips etc., but now that he is continuing to move the goal posts in the right direction it's downright laughable.
Your desperation is showing.

He's not trying to get people to forget his promise, he's continuing to remind people of it and continuing to make progress towards delivering it.
