Tools (The work kind)

Us engineers don't typically get to use the cool tools, but the contractors frequently send us pictures or videos of them working on our stuff with them.

Here's a clip of my HRSG being erected.

90% of the forum probably knows this one on sight

Umm, advanced electronic deodorant stick?

I saw something last week I am going to have the Mrs get me . It was a Ryobi air inflator that will run off of my Sawzall and drill batteries , 25 FRN's . Be easier then dragging out the air compressor just to put a little air in a wagon tire or small tractor tire etc. I was not even aware of these things .

That's my VFF!

It's called a 'Visual Fault Finder' and it sends an extra bright laser down a fiber optic cable and makes any breaks in the fiber glow cherry red so you can see it from the outside. Very useful for standing on the 5th floor of building 2 connecting a cable you are trying to trace, while someone on the 2nd floor of building 4 looks for which fiber cable has visible flashing light out the other end.

Just a question,

Anyone ever watch good tools destroyed.
.
I blew up an M-16 under orders to do so ( gas tube glowed red, then white, and pop)

Today I got a fancy flashlight that runs off of my drill batteries . I had one once before but only had one battery . I have three batteries that will fit this one . Sweet .

Today , I picked up a spare drill and two more batteries for my drill that also fit my new sawzall , tire inflator and flashlight , got them & a bag for the drill & flashlight at a garage sale for 6 FRN's and traded a 1/4 drive spinner handle that I had bought for 1 FRN at another yard sale this summer.

I also spent 6.42 at Home Depot today , got two sets on Christmas sale , a drill driver set and a drill bit set . I did not need them really , but for 3 each I was taking them. They will get used.

Well OK, that does sound very useful. But since the laser is so powerful... would it work for hair removal?

Hint: It's a tool often used in HVAC.

That is a good clue. Hmm... could it be a louver wrench, for reaching down ducts and adjusting the angle of the air deflectors?

I doubt it, with the shape of the work end, though. Two round-looking things at right angles. Hmm.....
