What do you guys think of that idea? Changeable head long-handle tools.

I like interchangable gadgets. Trouble is they never turn out as durable in the long run. Except for my Gravely walk behind.

Yeah, me too, but my experience is the same as yours.

It's not always true, though. If they're well-made and well-designed they can be. Take, for instance, the Series 99 interchangeable blade screwdrivers from Xcelite that I posted earlier in the thread. Those are premium, top-notch screwdrivers and should last just as long as any screwdrivers out there.

These Maglok tools are the same kind of idea, and they look as if they are well-made, and so it really comes down to whether it's a good design or not. Hard to tell without using them. Those long-handled tools, I tend to use pretty aggressively. Hey: I'd be the perfect tester. They should send me a set for free!

It is this one. Clicking on the pictures it looks pretty rusted.

So after Christmas that compressor with the electric motor was still there, but when I finally decided to grab it he had sold it two days prior, lol. Figures. It was on craigslist for months. So I bought the gas one for $75.00. The pistons were stuck on the compressor head and the motor wasn't running. pulled the valves off the top of the compressor, soaked the pistons in oil for a while and buffed the gunk off the cylinder walls and freed them up. Now there's no spark, I think I'll convert it over to electronic instead of replacing the points and condenser. Should be a cool old workhorse when I'm done. I'll rebuild it fully if necessary.

Right, it looks like one of those "oh cool, look at that" tools that turn out have a built in design flaw. I have a hard time believing they would hold for any length of time.

I was cleaning off the back porch at the farm yesterday . I looked in the outdoor toy box where the sand pails and shovels are and I found my Dads old Eastwing rock hammer . Cool .

You've got to love the angle grinder. It is the most dangerous power hand tool of all, and also the most powerful.

Just burned a hole through my pants the other day with one. Whoops! Watch where those sparks fly.

So, Briggs and Stratton was no help on trying to get parts for the motor. Too old for their records I guess, went to Harbor Freight and bought a 6.5 hp replacement. That thing will give me 100 pounds continuous pressure through my hopper. :) It's a beast!
