Tools (The work kind)

So, Briggs and Stratton was no help on trying to get parts for the motor. Too old for their records I guess, went to Harbor Freight and bought a 6.5 hp replacement. That thing will give me 100 pounds continuous pressure through my hopper. :) It's a beast!

Those Briggs are so common you should have been able to match up some parts...

My trusty old DeWalt radial arm saw has seen me thru a lot of challenges faced repairing/remodeling a 100+ year old house.

That is Beautiful, Shakey!

And I figured out what my tool is. Should I tell you, or see if anyone else can puzzle it out? It's nothing so obscure as I had been thinking, there's a hint. Also I said the middle turns a third of a turn, but actually it's about a third of a half, or a sixth.

This looks to be a screw-holding tip on a driver.....

Ding, ding, ding! Screw-holding screwdriver. The middle bit springs around to be out of alignment (as in the photos) and thus exerts pressure on the walls of the slot on the screw, holding it in place.

This has been proven to be a superior design;

Ha. I've been trying to figure out what that thing was. Thanks, Helmuth. That thing's been in muh tool bag for probably 10 years. I usually just use those quick changes that slide down over the screw. Those cheap aluminum ones that last about a month.

That's a great old machine there, and trust me, I'm the last guy to shout "safety!"...but...

That's some "danger close" wiring on the plug, brother.

I mean, I'd be more than happy to send you a universal plug.

I took that picture while it was down for repairs... got it buttoned up a little better now.:D

This one was my father's circa 1950s... cast freakin' iron. Several different models/sizes... mine is a rather small one. Can actually still get parts for it.
