Did you know that your Turkey day dinner is 9% more expensive thsi year b/c there is a dirth of illgegals to cull the fields and farms.....and there are NO US citizens that will want that work....MWahahahahahaah - Im sure it has nothing to do with the Fed, the WAR....and a little thing called inflation!

Or if there are U.S. citizens who are willing to do the work, the producers can not afford to hire them at government regulated minimum wage.

yeah chicken feed has been really high this year...

iv been spending almost double.

turkey feed being almost the same thing, just other grain added for more protein.

Has more to do with biodiesel subsidies. The price of corn is going through the roof which is increasing food prices.

Being in the food industry, I see all manner of government intrusion affecting prices and hurting both business and consumer:

1. Subsidies for bio-diesel as mentioned affecting corn prices.
2. High corn prices affect cattle and poultry feed and increase meat/egg prices.
3. Increased meat prices mean more cattle to slaughter and less to milk production.
4. Higher milk prices means higher food production costs for ingredients and cheese and less fluid milk available for those uses.
5. High fuel prices get added in to costs
6. Extra government regulation for food safety/security since 9/11 adds needless costs
7. Recent changes in rules for truck drivers allows them to drive less and increases costs.
8. Don't even get me started on "food scares" and Chinese imports...

The feds have their dirty little hands firmly around the throat of the food industry.

That's funny, they say they're against illegal immigration, but when it comes down to it, these corporations would much rather have illegals to do the cheap, illegal labor for them than citizens who'd reject the crappy conditions and demand to get better pay for their work. Fox News: propagandizing as usual.
