This will hurt McCain bad - maybe Paul can rebound?

I hate Olbermann. They can't defend Obama, so he pretends he's a teenager and whines "But everybody else is doing it!"

The difference is clear, in that McCain wasn't a regular member of any of those churches for 20 years.

And God knows we have our whack jobs in the movement.

No, the difference is not clear. McCain is an adultering alcoholic warmongering embezzling disgrace. Does he go to church?

Here is another problem as to why no one may take this seriously. Christianity and Islam are diametrically opposed to each other....and many American Christians take that to mean "Holy War"...which is not what the Bible says. I would like to see his whole sermon in context. I personally am sick of Christian pastors preaching these things from the pulpit, when it should be more about Christ and less about others.

I don't believe this is the case at all. Mohammed was a student of Jesus' teachings, Jesus is prominently featured in the Quran, and all are descended from Abraham. Both faiths believe in much the same things, and both faiths have "fundamentalist" sects who are perverting those things for their own ends. I agree with you that the perception is that they are diametrically opposed, especially among those fundamentalists, but I really don't think that this is actually true.

Once again, education is needed. And resistance to that education is high.

The media reminds me of girls... when a girl REALLY likes you and her friends find out, but don't like you... the girl acts like she hated you all along.

Obama is a good person, and his pastor story is as stupid as ron paul's newsletter story.

Christianity is totally based on Jesus being the Son of God, the Messiah who bore the burden and paid the price for our sins, bringing mankind back into communion with God. Islam believes no such thing about Jesus. So I would classify that as being diametrically opposed.

Out of historical ignorance, I'm not sure I can agree with the idea America is an enemy of Islam. (Though the more visible spokespersons for the other side seem to see America as enemy to Islam) However, I take montages like this, that include abbreviated sound bites, with a grain of salt. Imagine the field day people could have (and probably have had) with Ron Paul doing exactly the same thing.

Don't see how this could possible hurt McCain. It is perfectly congruent with everything McCain has said or done.

Well, I wouldn't. I'd classify Athiesm as diametrically opposed, with Buddhism close behind and Hindu/ancient Greek worship of multiple gods not so far behind that. With Allah and Yahweh being one and the same, I'd say Christianity and Islam are no farther from each other than from their common parent Judaism--whether they care to claim their relations or not!

What pisses me off about this SOB is that he wants to destroy a religion. What if he wanted to destroy Christianity? Or Judaism?

Why is it acceptable for him to proclaim we must destroy anohter religion?

I am an atheist and he pisses me off. It sn't America's calling to destroy any religion. This man is insane and unstable.

Yes it is. But unfortunately, it is socially acceptable to hate a Muslim 6k miles away. It is encouraged. Not dissimilar to how it was OK to hate blacks for decades. I hardly know any Muslims, but it makes me sick that this kind of racism is so accepted.

My dad's mother was from Greece/Turkey so I've grown up around a lot of Muslims and I can safely say they are the nicest people I've ever met and unlike most "Christians" I know they actually live their life as the Koran says. I pray that this madman will see just what kind of damage these remarks do to the Christian community. Jesus Christ would never condone "destroying" somone because of their beliefs.

I have to live in the reality these fascists create

Here is a show stopping twister bit of trivia for you... ;)

Agent Hannity there also starred as V in V for Vendetta. Oopsy!

Stomping on our first amendment rights...

Breaking his own campaign finance reform law...

Calling his wife the C word and a trollop...

The Keating 5 scandal...

His gaffes on who we are fighting in Iraq...

His plea for 100 more years in Iraq...

His McAmentsy bill...

Going against the Bush tax cuts...

His naturalized citizenship argument...

etc etc etc, have had no effect, why would this? And yes I know there are far more things I could have listed, just got tired of typing. :)

Edit: Just found this tidbit. McCain just hurts himself, I love it...

The funniest thing is that these "Christian Jihadists" don't seem to realize they're doing exactly the same thing as the radical Islamists when they talk of wiping out an entire religion from the face of the Earth, yet they'll call Islam a "religion of hate" because 5-10% of its adherents claim to want the same thing.

People must learn that the most adamant, fanatical proponents of any given belief system are usually not to be held as exemplary of the religion itself.

Oh and remember when Tom Tancredo said that we should bomb the Kabah? Was there any media coverage? No, so I dont expect much out of this one.

Exactly. The same drive that fuels them is what fueled the Brits two centuries ago. There is a philosophic belief that the Arabs are sub-human and thus need to be "civilized" which is code for be used for our gain. I suggest you read the book "Heart of Darkness." What the US is doing right now in the Middle East is exactly what Great Britain did in Africa.

Christian Jihadists! I wish someone would ask McCain in a televised interview "Friend, do you consider yourself a christian jihadist?" Buawhahahaha

So...as a lifelong Christian who has roomed with a Muslim the last two years and has discussed the differences in our religion thoroughly, I probably have more experience on this issue than do most here. Muslims view Christianity as Christianity views Judaism, pretty much. That we just haven't received the full message yet. I believe Islam is a lot closer to Judaism than either of those is to Christianity. Both of those religions are founded in the law and you are judged by your works.

I disagree that the most ardent supporters of a religion are not exemplary of the religion. I don't consider apathy to be a virtue. It's just these types of people aren't good examples of Christians. I mean, Christians are supposed to be like Christ; would anyone's interpretation of Christ act like this?

This guy is just so short-sighted.

he's great on the federal reserve issue, thought he had common sense.
guess not.

The only other time I have seen him is an hour long video of him telling his church about how bad the Federal Reserve is. He seemed very cool in the Federal Reserve video but in this video he just sounds crazy.
