Think SOPA/PIPA was bad? You haven't seen ACTA yet!!

Dude, is it even possible to keep up with this shit....like for every bill we expose there is a hundred other attacking every facet of our freedoms.

I know it's like the broomstick from Fantasia. Cut it in half and suddenly you have two, cut those in half and you have four, then eight, then sixteen....

Ultimately, we all find this shit out by word of mouth or by chance, so it's our libertarian duty to spread the word when we find it.

A handful of people can't find this stuff, but a million eyes constantly watching is the greatest counter to the All-seeing eye that threatens our liberties each and every day. We must impose eternal surveillance on our elected officials each and every second of every single day they are in public and have millions of watchmen. THAT is how we keep track. WE are the watchmen now.

And when election day comes around, we must increasingly elect our own ilk to office and eventually outnumber the scum who are in office. We have to FIGHT for liberty by overwhelming them with pure numbers. Use the public apathy to our own advantage at every turn.

WE CAN WIN THIS!! Just have to have faith of the heart and do your little bit to help our brothers in liberty win this fight. It all adds up!!

that first video is so hard to follow and understand but the 2nd one cleared it up for me. tbh we may have to wait till the thing gets closer to passing before people start caring about it like they did for SOPA with the massive viralness on the web.

So it's ACTA in the Senate and OPEN in the House?

As an alternative to SOPA-PIPA, Representative Darrell Issa (CA-R), and 24 co-sponsors introduced the Online Protection and Enforcement of Digital Trade (OPEN) H.R. 3782 on Wednesday, during the Internet blackout.

OPEN is gaining support from groups like Google, Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, Consumer Electronics Association and more.

wtf. I'm spreading this stuff on Twitter, but god damn it this won't end.

Darrell Issa was pushing OPEN. I don't see why we need yet more laws on this stuff when the ones we have are already overboard.

the orwellian names of these acts scares me " OPEN? when all that it wants is CLOSURE? PATRIOT act? when all it promotes is UNPATRIOTism? FEDERAL RESERVE? neither federal nor having any reserves? next what? Govt Transparency?

You forgot this.

Although from what I hear, OPEN isn't actually that bad.

Yea that's a bad bill too. You know that any bill that is supposedly for the children is going to have something in it that encroaches unreasonably on civil liberties.

But you know, at some point, the likes of GOOGLE and what not have to come forward with something that is positive for freedom and liberty so that we head off these bad bills. These jokers are just going to come back with the same bad bill over and over again until something sticks or makes it in a rider as part of a larger bill.

If they don't manage to do this at the national level, they'll just make an international treaty, so the parliamentary opposition gets cut off.

My advice to RPF: install a backup server in Iceland as long as you can, they grant the most internet freedoms in the world.
