Gary Johnson summed it up with all this bs they are doing, saying that the problem is congress and all the legislatures are so bored out of their minds for the most part that they have nothing else better to do than to come up with the most bizarre and ridiculous bills that do nothing to benefit anyone. Since they are already crooked and in bed with all the mega banks and getting kick backs from lobbyists, that gets boring, so then they sit around scheming how they can make garbage like this. Rather than actually think of HELPFUL and CREATIVE ideas, it's just one terrible creation lumped onto another.

I haven't done much research on it, but isn't it some sort of international patent protection law? While I think the US patent system is deeply flawed, I do think that there needs to be some IP protection. How are you so for individual property right but against rights of ownership of ideas? Companies and individuals that invest heavily into new products or ideas need some ability to recoop their investment and make a reasonable profit.
