I think there is a serious misconception of the MLK moneybomb.
This event was originally conceived to be a massive donation from every Ron Paul supporter in the country. The amount of money was not the issue (hence the symbolic $10), but the amount of donors. It was supposed to be hundreds of thousands (maybe millions?) of supporters giving a very small amount, to show our numbers.
But now things have changed, and the number of pledges does not reflect the amount of supporters. So now many here have assumed that the pledges are for $100, like previous moneybombs.
They are not. Unless the organizers state otherwise, those 8,500 pledges are for $10 dollars only. That is $85,000 pledged. Not 4 or 5 million like some are saying.
If the pledges are supposed to be for $100, then the official site should say so.
Otherwise, we will end up with a regular small moneybomb of $350,000 like the one we had on newyears eve.
