If we were to win the Republican nomination in such a way we would get trounced in the general election.

Bradley, since you generally know whats the heck is going on big picture wise.. can you please post a thread which speaks to your general feelings/opinions as to the future of the movement/campaign right now...

I'm talking - what needs to be done, if anything (meaning, is it pointless?) in texas, washington etc.... what needs to be done in terms of an indie run (re: who should be hired, fired and what type of commericials/message)

in otherwords.. whats the big picture (D-day being next november) right now and what the heck should be done or needs to happen in order for Dr. Paul to actually have a shot at this thing (because we damn well squandered the gop primaries)

Ron has stated himself that he will NOT seek an independent run for POTUS. Consequently, any member who promotes otherwise is disrupting the goal of the campaign and this forum in securing the GOP nomination for Ron Paul. If these members even ONCE mention either an independent or 3rd party run then these members should be IMMEDIATELY BANNED. We do NOT need their disruption here. Thank you!

hehe, thats exactly what we did.




all the delegates are people who stayed after the straw poll, the people who were informed. Ron Paul Supporters make out the majority.
and they have to vote for the person who wins the state popular vote straw poll, but only in the first round of voting


the point is unless john mcCain gets all delegates required to secure the nomination,(which will not happen) he will not win first round of voting at the convention, when this happens it means all ron paul supporters will be unbound from McCain and Romney and Huck and Thompson and will vote for ron paul,

censorship is not the answer. if this is your response than i wonder if you are actually convincing voters in real life -- or are you just giving up when someone says "Ron Paul is an isolationsist and has no chance!!!!1"
 
Yes but doesn't it matter state by state as far as delegates becoming unbound? I just read something about in SC that in the first vote well here-

National Convention delegates are bound for the first ballot at the Convention. If the candidate receives 30% or more of the vote on the first ballot, the delegates are then bound for the second ballot. Otherwise, the delegates are released.

Now I can't find anything the SC Republican Party Website, but honestly I am too sick of looking.

So while I am here, can anybody tell me if SC already chose their delegates? I really have been looking all over and can't find it. I know in GA where I am, the pick them the 16th but I can't find anything on SC?!?

So do it. You can still do all that while he is running as a GOP candidate. That gives him an advantage in pulling more GOP support his way for his 3rd party run in your scenario.

Wrong.
Censorship IS the answer is this case. Liberty without responsibility, i.e. restraining yourself in the pursuit of a common goal, is simply anarchy (chaos). I repeat. At the first promotion of an independent or 3rd party run, those members promoting such need an IMMEDIATE BAN without warning. Actually, this rule should be a requirement for membership.
 
If you want Ron Paul to run for 3rd party then you are unfaithful and coward!
 
I'm sick of people blindly saying McCain won't get to 1191 when he is on his way to steamroll past 1191. People say he won't get to 1191 and then present no facts. This convention will only be brokered if we make it that way. It will take shrewd, hard work, but it can be done. I'm going to come up with a plan that won't be so blind and it will be a realistic way to stop McCain.

In Missouri, if half of RP ~25000 voters voted for Huckabee, Huckabee would have taken the winner-take-all prize, which would have been a VERY net positive for Ron Paul. I'm going to go through state by state to see what should be done. The first thing will be to convince Ron Paul and Romney supporters that voting for Huckabee in VA is in their best interest. Huckabee supporters will have to vote for Romney in some states, as will we. This can be done. Not blindly though
