The Revolution needs you to vote for Obama

Yes BUT that still is not reason enough to vote for mccain or convince yourself and others to do that just like it makes zero sense to think that way about voting for obama....

I never advised to vote mccain, voting for a 3rd party is the best option imo, since it will be visible to the rest as yet another option(for next elections) which they can give a shot.

"You can't win, Vader. If you strike me down, I shall become more powerful than you can possibly imagine. "

Great movie, but guess what, he's not Obi Wan Obama. Losing the election will not make him more powerful. Now, if he wins...

If he wins he will go into the Presidency with higher expectations than probably ever in history. He'll never live up to it.

You operate from a perspective better suited to fantasy stories of good vs. evil. I'm operating from a perspective of what will benefit our cause.

Your 'logic' is simply naive, at best. As it stands, this thread needs to be locked because you are giving people the wrong idea. This forum has always been an advocate for voting with your conscience and sticking to your principles. If you cant respect that, then I believe you are more a part of the problem than even you realize.

No one that reads these words should even be contemplating what youre suggesting. It goes against everything we've been working towards, it undermines our integrity, and it is a huge slap in the face insult that one of our own would even consider this a realistic 'tactic'. Whats the point of our entire movement if at the moment of truth, you decide that its too tough to fight and throw in the towel, (and YES that is exactly what you are doing by suggesting this, i dont care how you try to justify it.)

I'm not going to vote for another politician who talks to me like I'm fucking 5 or 10 years old like Obama and McCain do. If you saw Ron Paul yesterday on Fox, you'd have heard him say that he doesn't think there's a lot of difference between Obama's positions and McCain's. Ron even said that Obama "pretends" to be better at civil liberties which is the closest I've heard him come to calling him a fraud.

At this point, the best thing is to hope one of the third parties like Bob Barr gets 5% or even more because what that does is it will force the winner (whoever he is) to go after those votes in the next election. I haven't heard either one of those candidates talk seriously about the Constitution so I take it that they don't value it. If you value the Constitution you should vote for someone else and hope whoever the winner is will get the message.

I have actually shaken the hand of both Barack Obama and Ron Paul when they came to Montana. Some people may think these two are very similar but they are very different. When Obama came here he said in his speech that he wanted "to learn how to fly-fish". Personally, I thought it was pandering and no one would deny that. But when Ron Paul came and gave a speech, the very first sentence he muttered was substance (can't remember but something about government being too big). He even told a college student asking a question on education that people don't have a right to an education or a house or a job. Rather, they have a right to life and liberty. I never thought I would see a member of Congress tell a college student (on a college campus) that she didn't have a right to a college education.

Ron Paul is the real deal and Barack Obama is an imposter.
Bob Barr right now looks like the person most likely to get my vote even though I recognize he's a step down from Ron Paul.

You people keep going on about honesty, conscience, blah blah blah, yet Dr Paul remains a member of the GOP. Is that him being honest or practical? I think it's obvious he does it for practical reasons. I fucking joined Bush's party, do you think I did that completely honestly? No, I did it with the idea of flipping it on it's head. Many of you are hypocrites.

I've been eligible to vote since 1976. So far I've voted twice, once for Perot and again for Kerry to stop Bush. I would have cast a protest vote again this year but now I have a smarter alternative.

Dr. Paul's publicly stated view is to take over the GoP, beginning from the local levels. But why you added this piece? he never said he hates GoP or something like that?? He always said he belongs to the GoP itself, but wants to redeem it to it's classical state(clean the neocon shit).

can we at least get this crap moved to the "other candidates" section or "Trash" section like it belongs.

not really "ron paul grassroots central" section friendly

Here is a thought, turn off the tv and stop buying into the bullshit. Go out and do something actually productive instead of thinking like that talking box is making you do.

Are you going to quote statistics and polls next? lol

I think you are simply quoting what the news just told you today BUT trying to assume it as your own opinion. Pretty sad actually.

if you want to vote for obama THEN DO IT, that is what is great in America. You can vote for whatever piece of shit you want to.

Why not go over to that obama forum as well so you can be enveloped in change instead of people yelling at you here?

those who you can "convert" are already converted because sheep do what sheep do which it seems you know all too well.

You haven't comprehended anything I've said.

Open your mind.

Show me a losing candidate that's been turned into a martyr and gained significant traction. And don't give me Gore. Nobody cared about Gore, they cared about "cheating".

Obama is much scarier than any previous politician, to me anyway. When was the last time you saw crowds gather like he draws?

You're great at debating concepts.

 I will vote McCain now all because of you!!!!

This forum has been pro Obama way too fucking long for me and i just about had it, thank goodness McCain was smart enough to put Palin on his side and i can vote for Palin just to stop your crackhead Barrack Hussein Obama....

What the fuck kind of name is that anyway?

phree, I understand your logic and you are not an Obama spy, no matter what anyone says. Unfortunately, thank God for Ron Paul, I will only vote for the person I think is best for this country. Whether that is a Republican, Libertarian, Constitutional, Green, Independant, etc, etc, etc.

This will be the most important effect of this revolution, and will be it's legacy.

you can make your point without all the 'crackhead' references. :P

Because your "cure" is as bad or worse than the "disease".

Either way we get a douche bag in the White House again. I'm just saying we should consider a tactic that will result in exposing Obama and strengthening our cause.

Phree,

Here's my logic when faced with war (McCain) or socialism (Obama):

An anti-war "faction" is much easier to grow than an anti-socialism one. Once you go socialist, it is hard to go back because of the welfare characteristics of socialism. Big picture/long term, I think Obama could fuck us over far worse than McCain...although I am completely undecided as to where to cast my vote at the moment (and no I will not just be picking between Obama and McCain). Definitely not Obama, though.

Just as it is childish to vote for Obama to spite the GOP...it seems far more reckless to vote for Obama to "let america crumble" or "let them see how bad it can get".

I am open to hearing everyone's arguments and would love it if we could all get on the same page...who knows, maybe it is I that am on the wrong one...but I thought I would let everyone know my opinion on the matter as of today.

I'm with you. One evil advances the Warfare State (mcwarming); the other evil, the Welfare State (obomba), neither of which appeals to me in any way, shape or form.

Additionally, I do not believe for one moment that obomba is going to cease the Warfare State. He'll just add a huge Welfare State on top of it.

If/when obomba institutes nationalized health care, there will be no going back from that. (but believe me, I'm not saying mcwarming is any better).

As for obomba being a martyr, isn't he already?

As I see it, our largest obstacle is to get the common man to understand that the function of the federal government is to protect life, liberty and property NOT to do things for people.

I'll be voting for one of the 3rd parties as a protest against perpetual evil.
