Regardless of the results in New Hampshire, Michigan, South Carolina we must remember why we are Ron Paul supporters. For each of us, I am sure the exact reasons are different. Indeed, if you put all of us Paulites in one room, the stark contrast between, pro-lifers, peace activists, those who see the war drugs and proposed federal bans on gay marriage as moral and civil oppression, and of course your typical fiscal small government conservatives; would be a shocking site to behold. Nonetheless, we are held together by something more than a once in a lifetime nobel and honest candidate. We are held together, at the very least, by our belief in the Liberty of the Individual above the forced communal collectivism of the Federal Government. A Federal Government that long ago broke the bounds and restraint of our Constitution.

So I ask the question: What does the Revolution do after Dr. Ron Paul? We cannot let it end here! I urge us all to take heart in our initial victory! Please consider where Dr. Paul was a year ago, with the freedom-crushing thought control via media censorship and the entrenched fear of real freedom inflicting so many Americans, I say we have done well! So we must continue to contribute to the campaign, as we begin discussing a future.
Who is the next Ron Paul? And where will he/she come from?
Do we fall back into the obscurity of basic Libertarianism?
Do we form a new party, The Revolution Party perhaps?
How do we stay united?
How do we educate other young Americans to resist the false hopes of Big Government?

Unfortunately, the Republican party is lost to evangelicals (christo-fascists?) and Neo-cons, while the real conservative message of Dr. Paul is lost among the laughter of the jackals!

A final thought. In my circle of life, I can tell you that currently only 1 in 10 people are receptive of Dr. Paul. However, I have not a doubt that if our candidate was a young, graceful, attractive, powerful orator, like Obama, who gets untold millions in free loving and fawning media coverage daily, that number rises immediately to 4 or 5 in 10, even with the exact same message!

Don't loose heart folks lets find the way forward. We must take back our country. And the first step is to continue our first battle of The Revolution by staying true to our man until the end!

PS New Hampshire Motto:
Baa Baa, where did our liberty go?

It won't end here. But we are in a race with the bill collector, and he has a 95 year head start, so we can't be slow about the next steps.

Pro-life, pro-federalism, pro-gun, pro-peace, pro-defense, pro-sound money, pro-property rights, pro-liberty, pro-home schooling, pro-medicate yourself however you see fit, Christian.

the Republican party is lost to evangelicals (christo-fascists?)

that is a dumb statement because we have always been here.

The Mayflower Compact

In the name of God, Amen. We whose names are underwritten, the loyal subjects of our dread Sovereign Lord King James, by the Grace of God of Great Britain, France and Ireland, King, Defender of the Faith, etc.

Having undertaken, for the Glory of God and advancement of the Christian Faith and Honour of our King and Country, a Voyage to plant the First Colony in the Northern Parts of Virginia, do by these presents solemnly and mutually in the presence of God and one of another, Covenant and Combine ourselves together into a Civil Body Politic, for our better ordering and preservation and furtherance of the ends aforesaid; and by virtue hereof to enact, constitute and frame such just and equal Laws, Ordinances, Acts, Constitutions and Offices, from time to time, as shall be thought most meet and convenient for the general good of the Colony, unto which we promise all due submission and obedience. In witness whereof we have hereunder subscribed our names at Cape Cod, the 11th of November, in the year of the reign of our Sovereign Lord King James, of England, France and Ireland the eighteenth, and of Scotland the fifty-fourth. Anno Domini 1620.

Don't blame the Christians because the grassroots didn't get the word out that there was someone to bring about a real change and not just rhetoric.

Ron is a Christian don't forget... currently a member of a Baptist church.

Why not google Ron Paul Chuck Baldwin Pastors Forum?

Nice. But many evangelicals are very much pro-war, contrary to thier faith IMHO. I think many did know of Ron Paul, but not his faith.

Right now, I think we have to support Ron Paul until the end. No matter what happens, we just have to get his message out to as many people as possible. That's what is important here, the message. Afterwards, I think we need to focus on getting like-minded candidates elected in congress. I also think we need to start making BIG efforts to change the voting system used across the country from this asinine plurality system, to one where 3rd party candidates have a better chance.

UnResconstructed,
I completely agree! I am a Christian, and I am just as frustrated as everyone else about the ignorance among the Christian community. I just wanted to scream on Sunday when I saw a guy at church taking Huckabee yard signs to someone. They have no idea what they are asking for in voting for him.
As much as mnay of the people in this forum would hate to be reminded of it, this country was founded by Christians for the purpose of religious freedom- not freedom from religion. Remember the pilgrims and why they came here in the first place????

Armed Revolution? Moving to another country? I really dont know.

If Ron Paul doesnt win, this nation is finished. Call me a cynic, but I doubt any candidate could have sold (or believed) a liberty message as well as Ron Paul, and I doubt there will be a candidate to try.

A loss will prove once and for all that Americans simply arent concerned with liberty until it effects THEM, and fail to see the big picture. Its just... sad.

"change the voting system"

Not likely. Sort of a chicken and egg problem. The parties benefit from the way it is now, so they won't help us change it to their detriment until we force them to by winning something.

Hear, Hear - we need to be looking towards the future. Some of the suggestions I've seen in these forums however, are akin to saying "we need to get inflation under control" - OK, but what causes inflation, RP asks.

My point is if we're going to carry forward, we have to have an infrastructure. We could start with an evolution of RonPaulForums.com into something like RevolutionForums.org. We also need an announcement list. However, its going to take a lot more organization and, more importantly, ways to keep us attentive and motivated so we don't fall through the cracks once we get past the election cycle.

IMHO, before we go start an new organization, we need to assess what resources are already available. For example, the campaign itself, the grassroots orgs like Live Free or Die & the blimp, 3rd parties such as The Libertarians & Constitution party.

Personally, I'd like to build a bridge between the Libertarian & Constitution party and the Republican Party. As RP says himself, the system is biased against 3rd parties. However, 3rd parties can influence.

John Hagee calls himself a Christian Zionist. I like the terms "Armageddonites" and "Armageddon Lobby" for them much better. Most of the deeply religious people are against these wars.

I think we should continue holding meet up groups, campaigning for liberty even when not trying to elect anyone, sharing the message of freedom while debunking the kool-aid the Mainstream Media is selling, talking people into joining the Republican Party but not having to vote for those who aren't for freedom. We call them after election losses telling them we wanted to donate and vote but there wasn't a Constitution following, small government, non-interventionist, conservative insight. We are 10% of the population while Bush kool-aid drinkers are around 30% and the media is geared toward the kool-aid drinkers. We are 10% despite of all the kool-aid being marketed towards us.

We make sure our institutions of liberty continue to run strong such as Antiwar.com. We keep tabs on our enemies and cataloging every stupid thing they utter or write. When they go against liberty we show the world who they are.

We know the War Party is incorrect about virtually everything. When we hear people grumbling we supply the answers. We have the answers because we have diagnosed the problem correctly. Whatever happens this election cycle history will vindicate us.

We help our brothers and sisters on the left get their message out. They have the same gripes as we do in many ways but different solutions to the problems. Mike Gravel and Dennis Kucinich have been unfairly ignored on the left. I'm surprised the left has ignored such a courageous man as Mike Gravel. He ran a 1 man filibuster against the draft for 5 months. He's an American Hero!

Not to get too far off-topic, but "religious freedom" includes "freedom from religion."

What we have to do is start taking over the Republican party at the local level, and maybe next time we will be the "establishment" that sets the rules. Like it or not, the people we are going up against are the ones who have paid their dues to the party for decades who resent their party being used by those of us who will just disappear after the election is over.
On the other hand, I don't think I could stomach waving a McCain sign in the general election just to play nice with the Republicans.

Libertarian v Constitution party

Why is there a split between the Libertarians and the Constitution party? That seems like a good place to start right there -- get them together. Then we join as well, maybe even reach out to some anti-war crowds, get them to join ... we could be a formidable 3rd party.

I think a goal should be to get as many liberals to join as conservatives -- we need to find a middle ground, to focus on what we have in common. Otherwise, we will be hated in the media from whichever side thinks we are taking away more votes.

So, the anti-war, pro-civil liberties message needs to be at the core, I believe. That is something true conservatives and true liberals both agree on.

We should honestly try to do this.

Mike Huckabee is getting a lot of publicity and support amongst evangelical Christians because he talks their language. I know because I used to be a member of a Pentecostal denomination church for 21 years and attended another from 1998 until 2004. There is a specific set of issues that MH addresses to Evangelicals, that are all very, very important to them. They are my brothers and sisters in Christ so I love them and I also know they are in the grip of a strong delusion. They are very dependable, committed and active but most of them are approachable and they will always be polite.

The one issue that you will have to convert them on is the war in Iraq because this is where there is absolute disagreement. The reason they support the war is because they support Israel and they see Israel as being under attack by terrorists and they "know" that Saddam was paying the families of suicide bombers in Palestine $25,000 each, which is an enormous sum to a poor family. I am sure that many young men may have committed suicide /murder for this reason. They also know that Saddam was a monster and there is no denying the fact that he was, and that in removing him the Coalition has done the Iraqis a favor. They also believe that the mission in Iraq, to help the Iraqi people establish a secure stable country, with a democratic government is a worthwhile one. They are also convinced that a jihad, a holy war, is being waged against the West and that most Muslims have a duty, as Muslims, to convert everyone on earth to Islam, by force if necessary, and that Iraq is on the front line of this war against Islamic terror. For them America has a duty to Iraqis, to Israel and to the West to protect them against this threat.

This is a brief summary of the emotional and mental conditioning that evangelical Christians have been subjected to for many years. They see themselves as very patriotic, and they do indeed love their country, and many of their sons are serving and dying in Iraq for that reason. Most of them are very serious about their faith, like Dr. Paul, but unlike him they believe that what America is doing is an extension of that faith. This is not an easy conditioning to dissolve in a couple of minutes. It is being reinforced continuously by the MSM and in their church communities and on websites like World Net Daily.

So, where do we begin to unravel this tapestry of deception? For myself it began with the revelation that the doctrine of eternal punishment was in fact unbiblical. Then I began to question the modern church teaching on Israel and her right to the land of Palestine in God's Plan. I discovered that it was also a great deception. These two discoveries opened my eyes to the nature of the delusion that is gripping not only the Church but the world at large. My wife and I moved home to Scotland in 2004 and since then we have become even more aware of the way in which most of the history taught in schools has been used as a kind of mythology to keep the people of the world either quiescent or to arouse them to destructive action in wars and revolutions. Now we and many others, Christians and non-Christians, are living in a time of unveiling. As Jesus said "There is nothing that has been hidden that shall not be revealed". Our eyes are being opened and our ears unblocked, to hear and see what is really going on and what is being prepared for us, just as we are being prepared for something that is about to come upon the world, suddenly and for most people, without warning. In this respect the events of 9/11/2001 were merely a harbinger of things to come.

What we are all going through at this present time, in this year of our Lord 2008, is a time of testing. In the United States, there is a man, Dr. Ron Paul, who is asking the people to elect him as their President. His name means "humble ruler" and he has been used twice before as a sign or test for the United States. Once, in 1982, when he instigated the Gold Commission and wrote the Minority Report of that body in which he recommended a return to the gold standard. President Reagan accepted instead the Majority Report, which recommended remaining with the Federal Reserve and the status quo. So, in 1983, when the bondage to the banking cartel could have ended, the United States continued on, unwittingly, in the thrall of her oppressors. Then on April 28, 1998 Congressman Paul introduced the Liberty Amendment to Congress. He had been instrumental in presenting an earlier version in 1981 but this was the most developed form of this Amendment. This Amendment, if accepted, would have led to the repeal of the Federal Reserve Act and the 16th. Amendment, and all other Acts of Congress and Treaties, foreign or domestic, that were in conflict with the Constitution of the United States. The Amendment was referred to the Committee on the Judiciary and has gone no further.

As a result of this rejection judgement was decreed for the United States, to fall on September 11, 1998, but on that day, at a prayer breakfast, President William Jefferson Clinton begged God for forgiveness for his (and by proxy, the nation's) adultery by reciting Psalm 51. Following the prophetic type of King Ahab in the book of Kings, the nation was given a further three years of grace in which to repent of her adultery, her departure from her covenant with God, as represented in her founding documents. Now Dr. Paul is being used once again as a sign or test for America and is presenting his message directly to the People themselves. If they refuse to hear this message, and decide not to elect him, then a period of grace since 9/11/2001 will expire and a further judgement will fall on the United States and, we believe, the entire world.

We believe there is more at stake here than merely a Presidential election. We have never seen so many people, believer and non-believer alike, receiving an awakening to the true condition of mankind, yet many Christians are blind to it all. This too is to be expected since they have been blinded by a strong delusion, just as the Jews were blinded when God first appeared in human flesh. However just as God can blind a man so He can also give him sight and we must pray to that end. This is the ONLY way that evangelical Christians can be awakened to their condition and the true state of their nation and realise how important this message of Dr. Paul truly is. This is the end to which we pray and we ask all Christians who support Dr. Paul to do the same.

What we have to do is understand that you can't dismantle government by participating in it. All that happens is that government continues to grow and is legitimized by our actions.

The first step is realizing the system is far from broken and is actually in place because of its ability to maintain the status quo. The best you can do is continue to learn about Austrian Economics and teach others about Liberty.

I also suggest this book for people who want a new beginning intellectually

What brings people with such disparate opinions together is the freedom of choice provided by individual liberty. As is currently embodied in the two major parties, there will always be extremists that want to impose their personal choice on others.

We need to paint freedom of choice as the moderate position.

I agree with assessing infrastructure, or aligning several parties such as the constitution party and the libertarian party. But we would want to be more than formidable or influential, we would need power to enact policy. There are many parties that are close to what Dr. Ron Paul stands for, but uniting these disparate parties for a unified competitive third party would be a Herculean task. Read up on them here (there already is a revolution party).

http://politics1.com/parties.htm

If I was to guess the split between the Constitution and Libertarian Parties was over the right to life. For some reason Dr. Paul has manged to bridge this impasse. I believe that he was successful by delineating a type of liberty for the unborn that is robbed by abortion.

I missed the last meet-up group in my area, I will try to get to the next one. This is where discussion of the future of our movement would meet delegation of action items to execute. Unfortunately time is not on our side. It is our time but our time will vanish by April. Join or Die. Which is it going to be? Do we want ten parties and 1,000 websites for our message or one. I urge anyone who has read this thread to discuss this topic with others.

The key to success is uniting Christians, like me, excited about Liberty and Dr Pauls message and the traditional Libertarians.
