The reality in Iowa

To me, this thread says to us that we need to pour it on, in these last few days leading up to the Caucus.

students for ron paul's christmas vacation has 300 students in the state this week hitting every single county.

They won't vote for him, if they have not heard, much less understand, his message. You seem to think that everyone has high-speed internet and they do not. But, a lot are seeing articles like this one from the Des Moines Register, where they say...

I'm thinking this isn't going to go over too well with the older folks. I have sent it to J. Benton. Hopefully, he will contact the newspaper. We might want to set them straight on this too.

The campaign can do a lot in the next few days to travel around Iowa. Lets hope they do.

who said you have to have high speed internet????? what% of the population has internet????i bet more than those who don't......

what was their reasoning

I tried to figure it out but she was all over the place, she said Huckabee is already forcing change?... I really think she didnt even know why she supported him, I think she was supporting hiim solely based on religion because she couldnt give any other reasons.. lol

btw, call cspan..

Do threads like this inspire people? Half the time I come to this board I get depressed by the endless wank-fests of negativity. I know I'm not the only one.

By all means, continue on with another 3000 post dribble-fest that will inspire everyone to depravation!

Who needs the media and pollsters to take us down when there are so many defeatists amongst us?

Please continue...

Most of the information out there about Ron Paul requires high-speed internet. Also, if you don't have such access, a lot of people use it for little more than email.

There are more libertarians in Iowa than people realize - especially in southeastern Iowa
and there's also Jim Leach's old congressional district- where he opposed the Iraqi War Resolution Act with Ron Paul and a handful of other GOP Congressman in late 2002.

Leach still had over 100,000 votes in the 2006 congressional race -
and Libertarian US Senate candidate Christy Ann Welty had over 15,000 votes in her 2004 race.

The Iraq invasion is not popular but one worry is that too many peace activists and new caucus goers will caucus for Obama instead -

But the dem caucuses are looooong. You could "vote and go" at the GOP caucus -
your secret ballot will still get counted even if you don't continue to elect from your precinct to the March county conventions.

I guess we'll see on Thursday . . .

Thanks to everyone who has helped in Iowa since the summer -
coming from Corpus Christi, TX to Madison, WI and all points beyond.
Any mistakes that might have been made in Iowa should be learned from and not be repeated in
other states' efforts to integrate the official campaign with the grassroots.

It's the kind of thing that was never done before - at least not to this extent.
We ALL done good.

This wasn't an inpirational thread. This is countering the unrealistic threads by people that probably have never visited Iowa and think we are the potato state.

3rd place would be great - and is realistic.
1st place would be great - but isn't realistic.

i think it is some stupid reverse sychology bs these people do...they keep expectations low to be excited when he does better....

rp is going to kick ass in iowa....

If Ron went to the largest 4 counties, that's like 90% of the population of Iowa...

I just don't see how Huckabee could beat Ron Paul in Iowa.

Judging by Meetup groups, Paul has 4x as many members in Des Moines alone than Huckabee.
Granted, theres the non-affiliated churches that will support Huckabee but I gotta think that Paul will either beat Huckabee or come real close in Iowa.

3rd place + > 10% would be a HUGE success. Some people got stucked in this $20 million tea party matrix.

Who cares where the campaign went? The grassroots has consistently been effective.

Exactly. I can't believe some people on this site are trying to justify their negative opinions using POLLS!!!! You got to be kidding me?:confused::confused:

This is what I'm talking about.

Have you ever been to Iowa?

You actually think meetup group size is at all a barometer of caucus support in the hawkeye state?

When we finish 3rd how will you react? Be honest.

ARealConservative is one of those who thought the campaign was insane for setting a 12mil fund raising goal for the quarter and said we couldn't out do November 5th donations on the Tea Party, and said the Blimp would never fly. I have to admit, I was somewhat skeptical, but didn't say it. I think we have achieved many unbelievable things, who know what can happen with a lot of work?

Sounds like some of you have been manipulated by the pollsters. Exactly what they were trying to do.
