The reality in Iowa

That's the kind of positive message that will win the election ARealConservative!

Thanks for your inspirational insight.

What's your deal? You sound like the neocons talking about the "cut-and-runners". Does every post need to be fluffy and warm?

Ron Paul will do GREAT in Iowa!! the Revolution is STRONG!!! as we will all see in the next few weeks!

The campaign could have done more in Iowa with their funds lately, but it's too late to care about that now, LETS TAKE IOWA!

Thanks, ARealConservative.

I'm hoping that we come in 3rd and praying for a miracle that we do better.

You are right though, the good doctor has campaigned very little in Iowa, especially compared to the months that many of the other candidates have spent there traveling around the state, meeting in countless people's homes and doing townhalls.

Yup, I'm praying for a miracle and stranger things have happened. The grassroots has been kicking %$#. :)

what you people miss is the fact is,it wouldn't matter if rp never set foot in my state.....i know enough about the man to vote for him....i don't think it is as big a deal as people are making it......you think mccain is going to win nh for all his time there?????i don't think so with his track record....and again rp is the only candidate who wants to bring our troops home now and get rid of the patriot act....the only true honest pro 2nd ammendment candidate bar now.... this matters to people the most...not how long he has been in a state...mccain is going to find this out....his message is not rps message...big difference there....

I think we will win Iowa. Just a gut feeling.

I'm actually less confident about NH.

Yesterday i took a nap at 3pm.
Sometime between then and 6pm i HAD A DREAM THAT RON PAUL WON IOWA!

LIKE, LANDSLIDE WON!

That should count for something!
:D :D :D

But not if we finish third and lose momentum because everybody is dejected that we didn' finish 1st or second.

I am fairly new to this forum, but I am active on a number of other forums where I'm spreading the message. Let me assure you that most of the pretend pundits on non-political forums (if the ones I visit are any indication), don't expect Ron Paul to finish in the top five or get more than 4% of the vote. A 3rd place finish with >10% of the vote is going to wake up a TON of people.

A 3rd place finish will be a huge victory! Don't be discouraged. It's an important springboard - it's not the whole "war".

Didnt you see South Park, iowa is 5 years behind, lol... Seriously though, its the old people in nowhere Iowa that go out and caucus, I dont think they have internet, in fact I dont think IOWA has high speed internet, they are still excited over 128 kbp/s..lol

guys its being realistic. Dont set yourself up for a hard fall based on assumptions.

I do think polls are biased, for that reason we just dont know about support in Iowa.

Unfortunately, voters DONT think polls are biased and like it or not most voters do take into account "electibility" for them electibility is having good poll numbers so...

Whether it's realistic or not, every vote counts. To post a thread like this is inexcusable!

Straight talking is one thing, behaving like a foolish primadonna is another.

What the frick is wrong with some of you!???????????

the campaign has saturated the state with advertising.

The grassroots has done a great job of getting the word out.

All that was lacking is for the candidate to stump the state. Elderly citizens like to meet the candidate in person in Iowa - otherwise they aren't going to vote for them. Obvioulsy his isn't true for all voters - I'm not a collectivist - but this is how I view a good percentage of Iowa voters - especially the elderly.

i'm not being critical of the campaign or predicinting doom. I am going to be extemely pleased with third place - only left wondering how much better we could of done.

But that's the thing - HQ decided that the juice wasn't worth the squeeze - and if we finish 3rd - the campaign was dead right. Dr. Paul could of hit every single county in Iowa and still only managed second - and the cost would not of been worth it.

My only point is to let the supporters know that a 1st or 2nd place shpowing is not only unrealistic, it isn't the end of the revolution either - unless we are dejected by third place. Don't let a 3rd place finish get you down.

is where he will be. I hope that Ron Paul supporters will be out to greet him.

Less than 1 hour from now.

Nothing personal here, and I really don't know much about Iowa, but from what I read here, it doesn't give me a good impression.

It seems like the winner goes to the greatest panderer.

You are one grass root.
You are seeing what you can from where you are. Grass roots are everywhere, and spreading.
I am a grass root.
We are many.
I am optimistic.:)

Stop calling the OP a troll, s/he is right, makes sense, and is trying to help us. :) ARealConservative: Thanks for your insight, I too hope Ron gets 3rd, and let's hope for a better finish in NH where the real chance for victory may lie.

I consider your reaction the foolish part.

If my post is going to get a single person to not caucus in Iowa - then the problem was always with them, not me.

Fuck, a retarded 23 yr old bitch from Iowa just called CSPAN saying she and her younger sister where going to caucus for huckabee and the explanation she gave is pathetic to say the least, how the fuck do we not get every under 25 vote?

They won't vote for him, if they have not heard, much less understand, his message. You seem to think that everyone has high-speed internet and they do not. But, a lot are seeing articles like this one from the Des Moines Register, where they say...

"Paul has called for eliminating the Federal Reserve Bank, Department of Education, as well as Medicare and Medicaid."

I'm thinking this isn't going to go over too well with the older folks. I have sent it to J. Benton. Hopefully, he will contact the newspaper. We might want to set them straight on this too.

The campaign can do a lot in the next few days to travel around Iowa. Lets hope they do.
