Anyone know which country is the most libertarian country in the world?

Which country has:

* The most personal/individual freedom
* The most respect for civil liberties
* The most limited government
* The most respect for its constitution
* The most economic freedom
* The lowest taxes
* Sound money

Are there any little-known gems in the world?

I vote for America, but our freedom is fading fast here. I've heard that Ireland Switzerland, and The Bahamas are all fairly libertarian. I don't know too much about the subject though.

Is America still the freest nation on earth?

If not, which country gets your vote, and why?

Not sure about Ireland, but not just anyone can move to Switzerland or The Bahamas. You have to have a certain amount of income before they will allow you in. Same with Canada.

I doubt that America is still the freest nation on earth. Since the Patriot Act, we've lost a good measure of freedoms.

Should New Zealand be in there? I've heard in mentioned in similar context before.

no way, after the patriot act we prolly the least freest nation. also, we have a lot more strict rules than Europe. like higher drinking are, higher driving, etc....no nudity on tv. not sure whitch is freest though, but i know Ron Paul admires Switzerland i think because of its liberatarianess.

I think when you weigh it out, we're probably still on top of that list.

I mean, I can name a problem with every country you named. Switzerland has high taxes and requires you to be pretty wealthy to emmigrate. The Bahamas is completely corrupt. Singapore has a barbaric judicial system. New Zealand is pretty socialist. Austrailia will take your guns and is becoming more and more a nanny state.

It seems that the "less" government involved means that where the government is involved there is more corruption.

funny I dont think of Hong Kong or Singapore as FREE

They are the most free states in existance that have a population with 5 digits or more. Don't confuse democracy with freedom. They don't have democracy, but they have low taxes and low regulation. And while not being as good as having no pension plan, they have fully funded state pension plans, so they aren't going to just go bankrupt like we are.

Basically, as long as you leave the government alone they will leave you alone. That isn't have bad of a deal.

No, the United States is NOT one of the freest nations in the world any longer. And that is one of the reasons I support Ron Paul, as I believe he is the only candidate genuinely interested in making our nation free again. Going through your points:

* The most personal/individual freedom
* The most respect for civil liberties

The Patriot Act allows the government to spy on us and arrest anyone they label to be a terrorist. On every Interstate highway there are hundreds of highway patrol officers harassing travellers and writing them speeding tickets. Many of our soldiers have been forced to go to Iraq to fight an unconstitutional war, many either do not return home or return home in a coffin. And millions of people with cancer are dying and thousands of people with glaucoma are going blind because very few states have legalized marijuana for medical purposes. There are politicians wishing to make it illegal for civilians to own guns and to defend themselves, a clear violation of the second ammendment. And gays and lesbians are denied the right to marry except in Hawaii and Vermont. (I myself am straight, but my younger sister is a lesbian, so I sympathize with them on that matter.) Need I say more?

* The most limited government

The federal government is trillions of dollars in debt.

* The most respect for its constitution

EXACT quote by President George W. Bush: “Stop throwing the Constitution in my face, it’s just a God damned piece of paper!”

* The lowest taxes

The IRS taxes Americans among the highest of all the nations of the world. On top of that, so many things have an excise tax they add to what they already add to the sales tax. Gasoline. Alcohol. Tobacco. Jewelry. Weapons. Airplane tickets.

* Sound money

The US Dollar is falling fast against the British pound, Euro, and Canadian dollar. I challenge you to name one currency we are sounder than.

As far as what nation is the freest right now? I'd say either the Netherlands or Germany.

Name another country that could of produced this revolution.

Sure, we didn't gain critical mass, but noway would we have this many sympathetic to our cause in any other country in the world.

What other nation really needs to have a revolution such as ours?

Every other nation I can think of is either (a) truly free or (b) is so deprived of food and clean drinking water and is more concerned about basic survival than liberty.

Are not the Netherlands and Germany free?

are you kidding me?

Germany is our bitch. They arent even free to tell us we have to leave their soil.

And the Netherlands? Freedom is more then smoking pot son.

At least in America you can question 9/11. In Germany you will be jailed for even questioning the number of people killed in concentration camps.

Is our movement really this naive?
