The Iowa College Ad Project and Grassroots Web Portal - Chip-in Included

In search of mobile device coder with professional exp., if you have the skills pm me.

Also looking for a good PHP coder (knowledge of Drupal) with industry exp. PM me if you have the skill set.

This is exactly the type of stuff we need to be doing more of in Iowa.

I agree. We can never substitute for "boots on the ground" and door-to-door activity in the early states, but the aim of this project is to deliver an organization tool for the grassroots to make the outreach efforts more systematic and make locating fellow Ron Paul supporters a lot easier within states, counties, and local communities.

I wish I could give more, I think this is a good project.

You just made a payment of$10.00 USD
Your transaction ID for this payment is: 3FJ66844FG9XXXXXX.

If you haven't already provided hosting I could host the site free of charge. If you have, well... shame.

For hosting, we're leasing a dedicated server at Softlayer - we've done that pretty early on. But PM incoming.

Looking to bring the following people on board:

  • a good PHP coder (knowledge of Drupal) with industry exp.
  • Flash Actionscript developer
  • mobile device coder with industry exp.

If you are any of those, please PM orenbus or myself.

We are making very good progress with the website, but we're still looking for a good graphic designer for the website. If you're a graphic designer or if you could refer us to a good graphic designer, please send me a PM!

I feel that I owe you folks an update.

We have a live site to go with the Iowa College Ad project. User registration and mapping works. We are able to bundle-mail site users. The splash-page for site registration has been completed both in terms of functionality and design. I'm pleased with it. The main page of the site needs further design/layout work before we're ready to release the site to the public and open it for registration. We do have a graphic designer on board that's been working with us on the primary design template, and I like the direction in which the things are heading.

The web developer for this project (user "orenbus") has been working around the clock to build the site from the ground up and develop the features we're seeking in the speediest possible manner, especially considering we haven't been able to recruit the second main developer to help him with Drupal/PHP coding.

Now our overworked developer has gotten very sick, so the development is on hold for several days until he gets better.

I was pushing for public release of the site last week, but we didn't get a graphic designer on board until early last week, so things have only started to really come together last week. There were also some bugs that orenbus encountered in some of the needed modules for implementing user sorting/filtering, needed to construct location-targeted email lists to site users.

I realize the time pressure here to move on - which is why I'm seeking someone familiar with Drupal/PHP to help us wrap up sooner. I will compromise on releasing the site to public for open registration without ALL of the core features we wanted to implement, but I will not release the site until we complete the design work on the main site page.

Stay tuned.

Are we addressing the student loan question with this ad?

No, we're not trying to sell Ron Paul with this project - it's not an educational ad campaign. We're trying to organize his existing support on college campuses, get these people to register and leave their contact info, so we can inform them about local grassroots activity and, most importantly, get them out to vote when the time comes and keep them informed on critical election updates. So the ad doesn't have any of Ron Paul's stances on the issues.

I had a death in my family - my maternal grandmother has passed away in Moscow, Russia. I am flying out there with my family tonight, and I expect to return on November 17. It's a very difficult time for our family, so I ask for your understanding as far as this project is concerned.

User "orenbus" will be the main contact for the project while I am away, and I advised him of my personal situation. He will work on the website while I'm away and hopefully will be able to release it to the public.

I expect to purchase the ads you've funded us to do when I return back into the States. I will be out of touch until November 17.
