I don't know why she made the sign-language sign for "I love you" (lots of Christian musicians use this sign). While it looks similar to the Corna hand-sign, it's not the same. And the Corna hand-sign itself is often misrepresented -- various sub-cultures use it to mean something like "Yeah!" or "Rock and roll!" or whatever, because they've seen it used in party contexts. In other words, it doesn't mean that the person throwing it is necessarily a satanist, it could be imitative behavior.

In any case, the people who are trying to argue that Erika Kirk isn't "crying the right way" after her husband was publicly murdered in the most vicious and cruel manner, are literally psychopaths. The whole Kirk affair has gotten ever more weird. Seems the best bet is to believe nothing you see.

Granted, a 200 yard shot is not very difficult, but given the stakes we may safely assume to have been forefront in said twerp's mind, why would he not have gone for a center of mass shot? At 200 yards, 30-06 is still going to have well over 2000 lb-ft of energy. That's going to do the job with far lower risk of a miss. Next would be the head, though significantly riskier for a miss. The video, if it is to be believed, reveals a great and gruesome torrent of blood. Then there's all the weird stuff regarding at least one of the videos where a spot, purported to be the entry wound, dances across the right side of Kirk's t-shirt and from one frame to the next is seen on the left side of his neck. Then there's the ring that jumps from one finger to another. This apparent fuckery has sparked all manner of speculation about the event, including the suspicion that Kirk wasn't at all killed.

Given the general state of ubiquitous fuckery where politics is concerned, I can only choose to mistrust all accounts and theories.

Then there was the memorial, which came off to me like the world's largest tent revival. I suppose I'm just too old and rotten, such that I'm suspicious of almost everything, including the performance of Kirk's widow. I'm probably wrong, but something there just didn't feel quite right.

But the salient part in all of this is the pattern. That's the part in which I can invest my belief. I see it repeated over and over. These days, nothing of significance occurs that doesn't have all manner of attendant and incongruous fringes. Everything such event seems abnormal in manifold ways. It feels like we're being screwed with at every turn.

On other fronts, I find myself very wary of the ways in which the feds are proceeding. So long as they stay on the straight and narrow, all this revived law and order stuff may work out OK. But how often do such people remain pure? Things run wild amok in no time at all and the good guys fall from grace. Meet the new boss. Same as the old boss.
