The Hawai’i Convention that never was....
Heads up to the few states that are left!
If you thought the earlier states were rough ..God bless anyone remaining! The *game* of the conventions has now taken on your worse possible nightmare...& the GOP doesn’t even care.
Right now you all need to know that what is transpiring at remaining conventions is coming from MUCH higher up!
We got info on Thursday evening that the GOP put the word out for the remaining states to do whatever necessary, so RP would get no delegates. What transpired in Hawai’I between 5/16-5/18 would make the strongest person sick to their stomach.
Some Hawai’I RP leaders rec'd sporadic info & on Thursday evening we got a copy of an e/m that was going around. It stated how there would be a rule change & in that change they would force 1 ballott that would elect 3 CD1 & 3 CD2 delegates & 3 alternates for each. The revised ballot would also elect 11 at-large delegates & 11 at large alternates.
The original rule was 2 ballots....3 votes for each CD....then 11 at-large. The top 6 would then be voted on for each CD the top 3 would be delegates & bottom 3 alts. Top 11 out of 22 would be del...bottom 11 alts. By doing it in this manner the neocons could stack the deck from the get go--in one fell swoop --end of story!!
We received registration packets Friday a.m. & the potential *resolution* was included.
We had a timeline of 5pm Friday (ever since our delegate packets went out) to declare if we were running at-large or CD. We had decided ...why give them the intel & would wait until later Friday to submit. No need for them to get *numbers* ahead of time.
Yet, there was another catch.... w/the *potential* resolution...it also meant a really twisted scenario.
The last sentence stated: “...any individual properly nominated for delegate by 5pm the evening prior to the convening of the convention shall be considered instead to be nominated for alternate if the candidate provides written notice of that intent to the convention secretary’s desk by 11am Saturday May 17, 2008.” (emphasis mine)
K...by now anyone paying attention to the nat’l rules ought to remember this is a direct violation...REMEMBER THIS if you are going to your convention still!!!!!
For your reference: pg 9, rule 15c #11 (materially changes the manner in which delegates or alts are elected ...convention include); pg 11, 15e, 1 (filing requirements); pg 13, 16b (potential penalty of losing RNC delegates); pg 14. 16 e,1 (penalty of a % of loss of attending delegates).
I worked registration for a bit on Friday . You needed a photo id to get your badge & packet. One guy came up to me wanting to pick up some ladies packet....I told him the procedure...yet he knew who to ask for behind the tables & she told me she would handle it. 5 minutes later he asks for another one...this time the person hadn’t paid ...& this time he was told she’d have to come in.
During registration they had someone coming by every couple hrs doing a count on how many delegates were there--everything was pretty top secret. You couldn’t even get a count on how many registered the way they had it setup.
Friday was nothing to talk about...registration all day, a video on Mccluck that most RP’rs couldn’t handle...& left. Those of us leading the team had our hands FULL w/scurrying around prepping for the BS coming at us all the next day.
When I was on registration there was a lot of badges yet to be picked up..yet the place was dead.
So the convention starts for real on Saturday ....we enter a HUGE ballroom. 4-6 guys at the door checking badges...all looking like they owned 24 hour fitness...or worked a nightclub as bouncers!!
Upon entering, there ends up being about 225-250 (max) in attendance. Yet, lots & lots of empty seats! I kept thinking...I have to find out how many chairs are here!! {luckily 1 of our RP’rs counted !!}
The room has Mccluk banners all over (where were the RP ones??) More bouncers line the perimeter. (Oh & these same guys were on walkies monitoring some of our people setting up a table ...one just reported back: “they are just setting up--that’s all.” {what the heck did they expect???}
We start. Someone is already at the mic nominating the convention chair, secr. & Sgt at arms etc....it gets 2nd before we knew what hit us. Then they try to put it to a vote...one of our guys jumps up w/ ”point of order”...point being we never established quorum. It goes to a vote as to whether or not to establish quorum...& we lose. (Hello? No quorum needed?) Called for a division & it was close...yet we needed a roll call ...
Then some intros & speeches. Then a recess.
Because I was aiming to do my best to stop the resolution they were attempting w/the ammo I had stated above....I positioned myself near a mic. It wasn’t going to come up -- right now anyway. They had us clear the room & said when we reentered they would give us the ballot for committeeman & woman.
During the break I found 1 of our guys more familiar w/RR & told him I needed to not get cutoff & was there a better way of doing it other than point of order. I was hoping to get it to debate...yet no one knew how to do it.
Upon reentering there are now even more “bouncers” around. I sit near the mic again...yet this time something odd is going on. Upon walking into the room the 2 mics they had were about 6 & 8 deep w/people lined up. Being our first convention -- we had no clue what was going on...yet some of our guys got in line too.
First order of business...move the delagates up. We were told earlier we had 417 delegates at the convention. All alternates had to sit in the back now to wait to get moved up. A few remained when it was done.
Now the resolution to amend the rules for voting & delegate selection is read....they are getting ready to bring it to a vote & I jumped up w/”point of order” (3x!) ...then I’m asked what my point is...yet Mr. Bouncer here won’t move over & tells me “I’m waiting to be recognized” . I started to talk w/o it...& then just looked at this thug & said “do you mind” ...so I put my hand on the mic & moved in....I proceeded to state that I highly recomended the community reconsider the resolution as it was in a direct violation of the RNC...now I’m being spoken to...cut off...so I speak louder into the mic & went on to say ...“you will potentially jeopardize your RNC’s attending.....as well as a % of your nat’l delegates”
The chair is far from neutral as we now see! He cuts me off & reads the rule...then says it pertains to caucuses . That is wrong folks...it specifies conventions as well!!! Remember this!!!
He then says: the chair does not recognize your point (or something close) then I hear him say ever so slightly...”discussion” ...so I get up again...yet now the goon won’t move & I told him “he said discussion” ...in the time it took me to say that...it went to a vote!!! We were now about to get hosed!!!
OH! Did I mention that when we returned to the room ...not only was it lined w/these “bouncer types” every 8 feet on the sides of the room....the room was FULL! You see they allowed registration to continue to 11 am Saturday!
When Lingle (gov) gave her speech she had her cabinet stand & be acknowledged 1 by 1. Funny thing 1/2 were democrats!! They remain when we are voting?
We found out that after they did the dumb sheets we had to submit by 11am...that there were now 480 delegates....fast forward to the end here for a minute....we also learned there was 682 chairs setup...& the room was just about full!! Who were these 180-190 people sitting in with the delegates...while alternates had to sit *behind* the main seating area????
We vote on committeeman/woman...hand in our ballots & now get the PRE-PRINTED ballot all setup w/the lines for a 1 shot ballot for all delegates & alternates on the first vote. They were ready for this damn resolution to pass from the get go!!!!
Every single delegate to the convention from my CD was demoted to alternate!! Not only that...1 of our guys that was working the group all day Friday? Well his papers *mysteriously* disappeared!!! I swear I know this guy was going to get a spot --even if only as an alternate! Heck, he was even working the Mccluk people !!!
There is an announcement from the chair...he told everyone “if you had a slate in your packet you could ignore it” so now I’m wondering (after the fact) --how did they manage to get a slate in the packets for Mccluk supporters?? It obviously was “plan B”
We vote...& now they finally release everyone from the stuffy, warm room to go to lunch @1pm. I have kept all the GOP schedule revisions to keep track of games ....& the last schedule they gave us on May 8th still showed lunch @ 12-1 not 1-2pm!! ..& yea...we know it was ALL part of the tactics for their railroad job!
After lunch we get to platform resolution...yet the governors puppets railraoded the committee a few weeks back. Infiltrated w/newcomers & their first order of business was to “accept the 2006 platform.” After 12 weeks of hard work ...the 2008 platform was shot down 26-19 & a lot of the old time republicans were ticked off as all hell!!! It was not only RP’rs by a long shot.
So now they propose 2 wimpy *ceremonial resolutions* (that’s what they called them!) have some debate...goes to vote. One of our guys gets up & his resolution had to do w/vets...as soon as he mention Iraq he was boo’d...yet he was looking for better health care for all those suffering w/PTSD!
His went to debate...got shot dowm...he tried again...shot down after debate again. Tried a third time & the chair said he wouldn’t be recognized. He sat down. Then I was thinking...K...no more point of orders...yet what about “point of information”? So we coached him to just ask the question...”if this is not allowed under “ceremonial” where can it go? The chair allowed him to speak w/the parliamentarian at that point. Btw ...the guy co-authored the 10th edition!! He was very good w/explanation...& told our guy...because they shut down the committee he would have had to submit it then. It was too late now. So who knows how/when the 2 *fluff* ones got in!!!
Btw: after lunch...the amount of attendees dropped down again!
Yet the worse is yet to come! At the close of Saturday, we got wind of a “script” that was used for the day. By that late that evening we have a *physical copy* of the script!!! The entire damn convention was choreographed!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Down to the pauses, they ayes have it ...you name it!!!
The script & all the Mccluk delegates were listed via a link on Daily Paul sunday...now you can’t get to them!! I’m hoping the boyz get it all back up!
RP’rs were allowed to help as tellers...yet no one was allowed to look at the numbers being entered on the computer...or they’d be kicked out. Not only that...the GOP has no intention of releasing any numbers to us!!
We went back to the room @ 5:45 for results...& not one of us made delegate or alternate. People came up to us & apologized. Later, our guy who was *mysteriously lost* was in conversation w/one of the bouncers & was told “sorry we had to do that to you...orders came from higher up.”
To say we all experienced every possible emotion....is the best way to end this. There were red eyes from guys too..no one was left untouched by the horrendous deceit & schemes that played out. There are a lot of smaller things that transpired for several of us....yet some may/may not want to post right now.
More people who attended need to become aware of what REALLY transpired. The sheeple did what they were told...& jumped when they were called. Personally, I’d hate like hell to ever have to sell my soul/spirit like so many who participated in the *script* did. They have to live w/themselves...& kuliana is big out here. What goes around...will come around...& the Universal Laws are perfect!
Oh...& if any Lingle puppets are reading this...we can tell you that we are not pau. If anything, many more of us have decided to stick around & do something w/the force we built out here. We will not go away just because the convention ended. Besides, now we’ve made all these incredible friends--we may as well all stick together & utilize this awesome energy!!
GOP: This is not about one person....& it’s bigger than you realize...& with your help you are actually assisting us to band together even more...not disperse! Remember, ....we are conservatives...& we are the Ron Paul R3volution...only stronger, wiser & much more educated since you made every step so difficult.
