The dollar is NOT going to collapse...YOU need to wake up

Just how much power do you believe the people of this country have over the elite government?

How many of the people of this country? All of us? Complete power over them. Just a few of us? Not so much...

They're waking up. Keep pouring coffee in 'em. Been voting for libertarians since '82. You can say the glass is half empty. I'm saying not so much that it's half full as I remember when there were seven drops in that glass. It's going the right way.

Did you/we stop the bailout bill from being passed?

I guess the obvious answer is NO!

Just how much power do you believe the people of this country have over the elite government?

As much as they believe they have.
We outnumber them.

Don't worry,

You guys are doing a bang-up job!

Suck on a land mine while the rest of the world congratulates you.

Freedom Mongers!

Why don't you forget about the Constitution, and the Bill of Rights, Habeas Corpus, the Geneva Convention?

Now everyone else has to follow your socialism/fascism?

Bunnies.

The election is in three and a half weeks.

No matter what happens

I will be in the market for shoes.

I'm wearing out my soles.

I'm keeping my soul.

Seriously, they claimed around 80% of the phone calls and emails the congress people were getting were against the bailout. So they passed it anyway.

Do you believe if they got 100% of the phone calls and emails against the bailout it would have made them vote against it? They think the people of this country are stupid and they are the only ones who know what is really going on. They are no longer the representatives of the people.

They're right or they're wrong. I'm trying to ensure they're wrong.

Three and a half weeks. We can fire them all. Seed the clouds of the perfect storm.

Seriously...

label me as a troll after this if you feel like it is necessary BUT hear me out first.

Okee Dokee.

Do you really believe the global economy...which pretty much survives off of the dollar is going to let America destroy the dollar...I mean in all honesty...think about it why in the hell would they let the whole system collapse...

They are trying to stop the collapse. Question is can they succeed. The correction must occur, as the malinvestment has already taken place. Creation of more access to easy credit will not solve it, it will prolong the contraction and likely make it much worse.

As much as I want to believe they want America to crumble so they can more than likely start the Amero I really don't see how and why they can pull this off right in front of our eyes.

It has already been 'pulled off'. We are now seeing the result of what they 'pulled off'.

70% plus are against the 700 billion dollar injection...so obviously someone is awake around here...how do you really think they could destroy our currency on purpose.

Again the destructive forces already moved, this is the result.

Now with that past us...yes the currency could be hurt from all of the wrong actions over the decades...but do you honestly think this was planned? I mean maybe at the beginning, but as time moves on people just accept what is already there...meaning they go along with "money out of thin air" not knowing how bad it can hurt us.

I personally believe it was planned.

So do you really think the people now are really trying to cause inflation and destroy an elite nation? Or are they just misguided? I'm leaning more towards a misguidance...

Banks are insolvent because of easy credit, unsound money, and the fractional reserve system. The only 'solution' the governments of the world can come up with is to recapitalize the banks. The government, since they fear letting the banks fail will inject them with capital. Since America is broke, they can only do this by borrowing more money or printing it. If they are simply misguided, that is maybe even more scary since it shows a lack of understanding of what is creating the bubbles that result from the misallocation of capital.

and this "invest in foreign countries" isn't really paying off is it? Glad people are finally realizing the economy is GLOBAL...and America is so strong that our collapse will cause disruption in the rest of the world as well...if they were so smart, why didn't the rest of the world realize we were destined to fall?

Who is saying 'we' were smart. It's either incompetence or treason, both scenarios are scary. Investing in foreign countries could pay off if more solvent countries stop trying to save the bankrupt country at the eye of the hurricane and simply cut their losses.

And yes I do understand Austrian economics and sound money...I study it on a regular basis, and believe it IS the RIGHT way...but we are so far down the road right now I don't see that happening AT ALL. Just being a realist...label me a troll if you think I need to be one...I'm on your side regardless, but I don't see how they could possibly let this economy collapse...considering how much of an effect it would have on the ENTIRE world.

good day.

Austrian economics is the way the natural free market operates. It isn't a monetary policy to adopt. Study of it should lead you to the conclusion that the actions of the Fed and other interferences cause distortions, via boom and bust, that over a long period eventually will be corrected regardless of the actions of the Fed.

My conclusion is that the collapse of the dollar is inevitable because of the inherent insolvency of the US. This is regardless of what 'the world' tries to do to stop it. Will a world-wide Crack Up Boom occur, I don't know. But the only real solution to avoid another great depression scenario is to return to sound money, get away from fractional reserve banking, shrink the size of government down to probably around 20% of its current size, stop fighting empire wars, etc.

Fat Chance.

As to your other posts. Yeah, as long as people 'trust' the US to infinity everything will be fine. But this is a fantasy. Most of the world hates us and our status as a superpower already.

The world and the US will survive a collapse of the US dollar. But we'll have to take our medicine eventually.

I'll take you fishing or camping...

Maybe 4Wd driving, hunting, swimming, partying, or night clubbing.

I promise I won't nuke you.

Are you going to nuke me now?

God I hope not.

Three and a half weeks. They spend our money to prop up their system of thievery so we won't wake up and throw them out. Yet their house of cards trembles and trembles. What will the Dow do today? Is there any safe haven?

People are only beginning to figure out who the economic terrorists are. Three and a half weeks.

The first moment when you can be sure you're going to pull a stuck car out of the mud is the moment it breaks free. Will we succeed? I have no earthly clue. But we grunt and we pull. What more is there?

Good post Wizardwatson

Very good points and I have taken all of them into account before. I understand this currency, due to fundamentals has to collapse eventually, but my thought is that they can hold it off at least for another decade or so...if not more.

Everyone is starting to really panic now, and I don't see why. Well I do, and it's mainly because they listen to people that are in business to make money off of situations like this. PM sellers, Peter Schiff, and whoever else.

Peter may be a smart man, and I'm not doubting his intelligence at all...but he really is trying to blow this thing overboard here. I know he understands the US can and more than likely make it through this current recession BUT he won't say that because he needs that transaction money.

Until we get a nation that will no longer trust the dollar...and that isn't happening anytime soon...look around you...everyone for the most part still trusts this thing or they wouldn't be using it ALL day...we won't have a collapse.

YES the fundamentals are wrong...we are built off of false credit and I know this...but the Fed is really good at prolonging the requirements of getting back to sound money...will they prolong it again...more than likely yes.

Can you aquire one for me?
It would be a quick fix.

I've been told that Nukes are good.

But...

I gotta pass.

Fuck mate, what's better than fishing and drinking beer?

Except burgundy panties.

That would be sensory overload. :D

Brazil and Argentina have launched a new payment system in their bilateral trade, doing away with the US dollar as a medium of exchange

How many more countries do you think will go this route now?? They will eventually wean themselves off of the dollar's control on their economic systems. What do you think the intention was by the Iranian oil bourse not being pegged to the dollar? The trust value of the dollar is the achilles heel of our country.

As for pulling things off right in front of peoples eyes they have people so paranoid about being called conspiracy theorists that any argument against the government and/or government policies defaults to being a tinfoil hat argument. Everyone, everyday has an agenda. Those in position of power are no different. When trying to pursue an avenue with variables there are various contigency plans so when it appears they are floundering it is merely adjusting to various variables. The great advantage to tptb is their control in so many realms including money creation, major businesses, and government policy formulation. You cannot just look on the surface for what you seek. The illogical nature of many policies requires one to question just why certain policies were implemented or are being pursued.

Just exactly what did we accomplish with the outrage towards the bailout? Oh yeah...nothing!! They did as they pleased, because we are too ignorant to know what is for our own good. So being aware is only part of the equation. We have to effectively make them listen and act as civil servants. Part of the problem is realizing they are not in the position (for the most part) because they want to serve the public but rather most are on a power trip and reap rewards based upon which lobbying group they choose to cooperate with when forming government policy. Keep that in mind as you cast your votes just how they regard their position...

Funny, you seem to think we can be the only nation of consumers. When we can no longer afford to be the pigs at the trough another nation will take our place. You seem to suffer from delusions of grandeur...
