WHERE DO YOU THINK THE BLIMP SHOULD FLY & WHY?????

I say all along the east coast along the beaches from florida up and then make some stops along the way at some football games.

Why? It's almost always nice at the beaches down south and its a sure bet that you will hit alot of people. When was the last time you saw a blimp flying over the ocean on a florida beach? never people whould be like "WTF???" "Who is Ron Paul?"

And

The football games because you have 60,000 people packed into one spot and are basically forced to look.

We have to think about national TV coverage. If the media will do stories of the blimp in certain areas we should seriously consider going there.

I say fly it over the major population ares of early primary states on the east coast such as NH, SC and FL. Also I say fly it over major population centers such as Boston, NYC, Philly, DC.

Early primary states for the local news stories we can get out of it and major cities so we can get attention and money for the campaign from the large populations there.

Then I say swing it west to Las Vegas for attention in the early primary state of Nevada and then hit SoCal for more attention and money.

And yes I think it should fly around Iowa in the first week of the new year being sure to hit up all of the local media outlets.

No kidding. It doesn't really move very fast people. So I don't think they're going to be able to move it all the way up and down the east coast. Given the capabilities, I would say it should float around the Northeast, and try to hit NH, Boston, NY, and as many other cities in the region it can feasibly reach.

How much distance can a blimp cover?

Does it make sense to fly it from state to state when it could take days to get there. I think other suggestions like fly it from east cost to nevada would be a total waist of money and opportunity. It would probably take a week for the blimp to make that distance.

Need cover football games, and high people count events.

Iowa, Iowa, Iowa and then onto NH

The truth is, the MSM can ignore the blimp no matter when/where it flies. But the MSM is forced to cover the Iowa results. So using the blimp to net RP a big vote in Iowa would be likely create the snowball effect that wins nominations.

Having come from a rural area just above the Iowa state line, I can attest to how Iowans would owe a debt of gratitude to any grassroots campaign that would go to such measures to promote their candidate. And IMHO, they would repay such a campaign by researching the candidate.

As for getting from the Carolinas to Iowa, I would travel alongside interstates. Interstates are a captive audience for such advertising and the commuters come from all over which would best scatter information about Ron Paul. And of course interstates connect major population areas.

Once Iowa has been canvassed, I'd fly it onto NH to arrive about 4 days before the primary. This might necessitate a bit of extra fundraising, but I'm fully certain this would not be an issue.

So for these reasons, I passionately believe the blimp should fly over all parts of Iowa first and then onto New Hampshire. I believe this would best help the snowball effect that wins primaries.

Right, MAJOR population centers. I think that would get the best return on investment. I love the idea of flying it out over Iowa too, but the thing only flies at 65mph, so it would take awhile to get it over there. In the end, it all comes down to what the organizers tell us what the capabilities are.

I say anywhere where there is alot of people. The downside of NY and Boston is these two states will go to Giuiani and Romney, so we should concentrate more on states that we can win.

My thoughts:

Starting point in North Carolina is a given, that is where the blimp will be when previous lease ends.

Exact routing in part will depend on what date the Ron Paul lease begins.

Iowa and Nevada are unfortunately is too far away from the other points of concentrated population in other early primary states to be feasible. (I shudder to say--maybe we need a Liberty Two ship for the West and Iowa!)

Boston for December 15 and 16 to celebrate Bill of Rights Day and Tea Party is absolutely crucial. Suggest that Official campaign should arrange for Dr. Paul to visit Boston as well, at least on the 16th.

New Years Eve over Times Square in New York would get a lot of media exposure.

New Hampshire is our strongest early state, and we should try to leverage publicity with the Blimp. I think the Blimp should spend several days making a circuit around the whole state of New Hamphire. (Ideally the Blimp should be present in NH on the Primary date of Jan. 8th, but this would probably require a lease extension and second visit to the state). Make loops around key cities between traverses that allow people in rural areas to see the Blimp and catch the enthusiasm. The state is about 200 miles long and 30-80 miles wide, so at average 25 mph @ 6 hrs daily flying, and allowing 2 hours daily for loops over population or event centers, about 100 miles per day could be covered.

Possible NH routing: Nashua, Derry, Manchester, Concord, Keene, Newport, Claremont, Lebanon, Hanover, White River Junction (VT), St. Johnsbury (VT), Littleton, Berlin, fly over White Mountains ski areas, Laconia, Rochester, Dover, Portsmith.

Bearing the above in mind:

Start NC

Start up east coast, hitting key cities Raleigh-Norfolk-Richmond-Washington, D.C.-Baltimore-Atlantic city (casinos)-Philadelphia- New York- up Hudson River valley to Albany, NY- across Berkhires and Revolutionary towns of MA-- arrive in Boston by 12/15. This is about 1100 miles.

Then-first circuit over NH, about 1 week' possibly would have some time for part of Maine coast.

Down along coast to New York City to arrive by 12/31 New Years Eve. I week allows ample time to get lots of exposure over this very populated corridor.

Back down south along more inland route to South Carolina, then Florida.

Note east coast best use for 1st blimp, if it works get a second one for west coast, could use a smaller one that might take a couple months to get.IMO
