The blimp must be in Boston for the Tea Party! Half of the reason for the blimp was obviously to boost the Tea Party! Pictures, news articles, and videos of the blimp flying through the air would be a HUGE encouragement for those donating on the 16th! If it's not in the air half of the reason for the blimp is GONE!

I don't care if the blimp has to be DEFLATED and then transported to Boston via flatbed trailers and then REINFLATED and TETHERED to the ground by cables! It must be in Boston for the Tea Party!

Having the blimp in Boston for the Tea Party will really encourage everyone and will boost the significance of the Tea Party! It will probably also mean more MONEY is collected!

Of course if the blimp can be in the air on the 15th it will get massive media attention and the Tea Party will probably be mentioned many times too!

Regardless of the weather the BLIMP MUST FLY in Boston even if it must be tethered to the ground to keep it stable!!!!!

There is already a story on Digg saying the blimp won't be in Boston for the Tea Party! We must prove them wrong!!!!!

LOL, I could really see people wanting it to at least be driven in deflated. All the ralliers could blow it up. :D

But yeah I was thinking about the initial thought of the blimp adding to the Tea Party donations by flying over Washington and on its way to Boston.

Shame.

I don't want the blimp to fly untethered if anyone could be harmed. However, they should AT LEAST deflate the blimp and then drive it to Boston! I see NO REASON they could not do that!

MP the blimp is not a type that is easily taken apart, and it is filled with a lot of helium, which I'm sure takes some advance notice and preparation to acquire and refill the newly reconstructed blimp with...

in short what you want is not possible to be done in a timely fashion anymore than the blimp flying there can

Yes, it can be done or the whole project needs to be scrapped. Half of the reason for the blimp was for it to be in Boston to support the Tea Party!!! If it cannot be in Boston I think that they need to refund everyone's money and ask them to support the Tea Party with it.

By the way, I am all for the blimp and think it is a great idea. I realize though that part of the reason for the blimp is to support the Tea Party!!! If they can have the blimp in Boston for the 15th and 16th I think it will PAY FOR ITSELF MANY FOLD by increasing donations to the Tea Party! If not, the funds spent so far will have only REDUCED the significance of the Tea Party.

The Ron Paul Blimp is historic in American political history. People have totally missed this point. The blimp will fly and make history. And we are all part of it. I will be donating one thousand dollars for our Tea Party 07 on December 16th and I expect everyone posted on this thread to match my donation to Ron Paul at ronpaul2008 dot com.

MP, despite you saying so, no, it really cannot be done.

You are like saying, that instead of driving a car across country normally because it can't leave for a few days, that it instead should be taken apart completely and driven there some other way, and then reassembled - not realizing that the disassembly and reassembly would take FAR FAR FAR longer than the delay would take.

Not to mention the cost, and the fact that you couldn't get that much helium in such a time frame anyway. You'd have a gondola and a giant amount of deflated blimp at the TeaParty - think about it dude, jeez

The blimp would not need to be disassembled all the way. It would just need to be deflated, carefully folded onto the truck, and then reinflated.

I should knit you a nice warm blanket and have you sit close to the fire so you can go on wringing your worried little hands… and look up with total sincerity as you ask what’s going to happen next. I’m so very worried you say! Calm down and watch the flames dancing in the fire dear. Tomorrow will be a new day. Wait and you will see... now get some rest.

I'm just saying that they should make emergency plans NOW.

I'm not going anywhere until I find out what's going to happen if the weather is too bad for them to fly the blimp to Boston.

I'm sorry, I've had enough tonight. Everyone has a valid point. Everything can't happen all at once. The Ron Paul Blimp team has to address each point and gather information to make a decision. When you have hundreds of points, and everyone demands an immediate answer, it's just not practical with such a limited staff. My apologies. It's all too much. Time for me to get some rest. I wish I had a warm blanket and a nice fire to sit by. You know the thing about tomorrow, is that its inevitable. It will come and pass.

Yes the artwork will come in, and yes the blimp will launch. History will be made. Then it will fly up the East Coast, and so on.... and so on. I'm going to get some sleep.
