The bizarro world of Trumpian National Socialism

You lack any kind of critical thinking per usual, and believe also what is spoon fed to you by the "Senate Committee".

What is more likely:
1) your source for "75% of those applicants were women or coloreds" is a mistake and they meant 75% of those taken into the program, or
2) white men just chose not to apply to the program because.... reasons?

If you want me to believe that shit you'll need to find another source to back it up because that number just doesn't make any kind of rational sense at all.

The first graduating class included 51 students. PR Newswire+1

Your own source that you quoted above says its 30. The Senate Commerce Committee:

This past January, the inaugural class of 30 United Aviate Academy students began their studies

As usual, you have no idea what you're talking about

@jmdrake they say 27% of applicants were women which is probably a bullshit number to begin with, and then the inaugural class was 39% women.

Women were overselected from the applicant pool because they were just so much more qualified than the men?

White men did apply to the program. How else did any of them get admitted? You're slow. United Airlines recruited from HBCUs. While there are some whites who attend they are very much in the minority. And with all of the other pilot training programs out there, why do you think large numbers of white men who converge on this one particular program?

It doesn't make rational sense to someone who apparently doesn't know what the "B" in HBCU stands for.
Also at least I gave a source. Where did you get YOUR numbers from? The Senate numbers came from United Airlines. I guess you claim UA is lying about who applied? Sure that's possible, but where else could you possibly get stats on the issue? And where are YOUR numbers coming from?

When they launched the Aviate Academy to address the shortage, the shortage must not have been very severe if they had the luxury of marketing only to the population that is least likely to become a pilot.

White men would be just as interested in this program as anyone else, if not moreso. Either they did sign up in significant numbers and they manipulated the stats or they went to great lengths to avoid marketing to any white men which is idiotic if the goal is to address a shortage.

27% came from your senate source. 4000 women / 15000 applicants. 39% came from
https://aviateacademy.com/graduation

I would note that your senate source counts the "do not disclose" race as "diverse" in her calculations. Who knows what she counts as "women".

When they launched the Aviate Academy to address the shortage, the shortage must not have been very severe if they had the luxury of marketing only to the 5% of population that is least likely to become a pilot.

Again, the overall population being marketed to is over 70% of the U.S. population, not 5%. So the idea is to get people who are currently not thinking about being pilots to consider the idea. It's no different than what Mike Rowe was saying regarding trying to get people who aren't thinking about being plumbers or electricians to go into those fields. You wouldn't be bitching about this if it were fields that Trump calls "black jobs."

White men would be just as interested in this program as anyone else, if not moreso.

How many white men want to go to an HBCU?

Read up on ^that program before you respond. They are partnered with United Airlines. They've created a pipeline for pilot training. It's no different than the tech company I worked for in Nashville from 1999-2001 that did a lot of recruitment from MTSU which happened to be majority white. Some of the top guys at that location went to MTSU and they spoke to the professors about the type of training they would be looking for in new programmers. Hence we had a lot of people from MTSU.

Either they did sign up in significant numbers and they manipulated the stats or they went to great lengths to avoid marketing to any white men which is idiotic if the goal is to address a shortage.

Or they partnered with HBCUs to create a pipeline of qualified applicants...which is what they said they did.

Yea I know when I'm launching a new program to address a shortage my first thought is hey, the best way to address a shortage is to restrict marketing to specific subsets of the population that are least likely to sign up.

It's not like this Aviate program existed and white men were not signing up and then they went after the blacks. No. They had a shortage and someone had the legitimate idea to open an Academy to address that shortage and then someone else had the retarded idea hey let's make this program for primarily blacks and women lolol genius.

I've you've already tapped the population that's most likely to show up, it makes sense to look into untapped markets. When there was a white male shortage of new pilots in World War 2, women were tapped to learn to fly so that they could ferry planes back and forth and black men were tapped to be fighter pilots. This happened in the 1940s when segregation was still the law of much of the United States. Sorry that your logic circuits are broken and you have no apparent ability to reference actual history.

They didn't though.

If you think they will ever run out of white men wanting to be pilots you're insane.

The shortage was caused in large part because the pilots traditionally came from the military and the military has been producing fewer pilots.

White men will never not be interested in aviation.

If they had marketed to white men, in addition to blacks and women, they would have gotten 10x the applicants.

I contend that it is also possible they did get 10x the applicants from white men and these have been excluded from their stats.

What is not possible, is to run out of white men that want to fly planes.

And these white men can go to Tuskegee. Nothing is stopping them except maybe their own prejudice.

But what's funny is that the same people that bitch and moan about "Why do black people have to be let on our school bus? Companies should be free to do what they want" bitch and moan when companies do what they want in a way that caters to somebody else. You're the dog in Aesops fable losing your bone barking at the water.

They didn't tap women because there was a shortage of white men, they tapped women because there was a shortage of men period. If they had asked any of the men on the front lines do you want to ferry planes back and forth literally every one of them would be like fuck yea. They gave the job to women because women can fly planes in theory but they can't fight a war.

They "tapped" blacks to fly planes to appease pressure from black leaders not to address a shortage. Again, if any white man is ever given the choice to be in a ditch holding a rifle or being a fighter pilot every single one would say yes every time.

All that is fine but let's just be straight with this they did not market to blacks out of necessity to fill a shortage they marketed to blacks out of necessity to fill an agenda

LOL. You admit there was a manpower shortage and simultaneously try to pretend that didn't factor in. The government announced they had a pilot shortage and needed to ramp up training. And yes, black leaders lobbied to have black pilots included in that ramp up. That only makes sense. It took 8 weeks to train an infantry man and 9 months to train a pilot. Naturally most people would be in the infantry.

More than one thing can be true at the same time. I've said that from the start of this sidetrack to the main thread about fascism. Facing a pilot shortage (very real), United Airlines decided to address diversity and bring in more minority and women pilots at the same time. Standards were not lowered. These new pilots had to pass the same exam and have the same flight hours as any other pilot.

No, they lobbied to have black people included in that ramp up. Many of them were not even pilots.

The only requirement was that they had a college degree, and even that requirement had to be relaxed.

There were more qualified people they could have chosen but they chose to include blacks to appease black leaders.

They were by the time they finished training.

That's not even a requirement at all now.

There were more qualified people they could have chosen but they chose to include blacks to appease black leaders.

The "more qualified people" were in other training programs.

"Standards were not lowered" is not the same thing as "the average quality of the candidates was not lowered".

The ability pass FAA minimum qualifications is a bare minimum, male candidates traditionally exceed it by a large amount

Every pilot who becomes a pilot exceeds the FAA minimum qualifications standards. And you complained about the WW 2 pilot college graduate requirements being relaxed while at the same time you're complaining about UA recruiting college students at a time when you don't have to even attend college to become a pilot.

I don't mind black pilots if they are men but if I see a woman pilot I will calmly turn around and walk off the plane.

I have worked with enough "qualified" women to know they are a general hazard to everyone and everything around them.

If you want to entrust them with a plane, you can choose to die if you want to, you do you.
