I think as long as there are Arabs and Jews, there is going to be hatred and radicalization. Nothing is going to change that. As long as Hamas is content to hide behind women and children as shields so they can later use their bodies as a PR move, then Israel will always be the "bad guys" I guess.

We (the U.S.) killed A LOT of innocent people in WW2 to win a war. But I think you'd be hard pressed to find many Japanese that are radicalized to hate America. It's not the violence, it's not the death, it's the cultures that have been at war for centuries. And they are just going to hate each other. But the Israelis don't strap bombs on their children to go blow up innocent people. I think Golda Meir said it best: “We will have peace with the Arabs when they love their children more than they hate us.”

It's a valid question, I've repeatedly said that people should look towards what happened during the Troubles in Northern Ireland, the peace process there was only successful when the British government stopped using paramilitary force to quell the IRA. There are many parrallels with the 2 conflicts but each situation is unique of course. At the very least I would hope people would agree with the point I made in my last post.

This has nothing to do with culture, that is garbage propaganda. This conflict comes down very simply to occupation and oppression. Palestinians have had their homes stolen, demolished, appropriated, etc. They have been ethnically cleansed from many towns since 1948, and there have been thousands killed by Israel over these decades.

Now we have the continuing 40 year occupation of Gaza (yes, despite the settlers being removed), with Israel controlling all exits, air, land and sea. They make frequent incursions and kill people, and destroy homes. They have blockaded Gaza ever since Hamas won democratic elections, and have prevented basic food and medicines from entering the strip, in addition to cutting electricity and water. What would you do when you see your homes destroyed, relatives killed, and your oppressor won't even allow basic human necessities? Would you bend over and keep taking it in the ass?

Your statement from Golda Meir, who said that there are no such things as Palestinians, show that you believe the worst of the worst propaganda. Hiding behind civilians is the worst lie that I have heard repeated over and over during the years. Hamas is made up of Palestinians who live in Gaza. They aren't like people who live in NJ who only travel to Manhattan island for work and then leave. I would say the real cowards are the Israelis who fly fighter jets dropping one-ton bombs on residential neighborhoods, slaughtering hundreds. That is true cowardice.

Israel will never know peace or security until they treat non-Jews as human beings, and end the occupation/oppression of the Palestinians.
