Storm forces cancellation of first day of Republican National Convention

Please comment to the article ... it contains Reince Priebus memo and I think a lot of delegate may be reading this.

RE: RNC Convention

Due to the severe weather reports for the Tampa Bay area, the Republican National Convention will convene on Monday August 27th and immediately recess until Tuesday afternoon, August 28th, exact time to follow.

Our first priority is ensuring the safety of delegates, alternates, guests, members of the media attending the Republican National Convention, and citizens of the Tampa Bay area. RNC Convention officials and the Romney campaign are working closely with state, local and federal officials, as well as the Secret Service, to monitor Tropical Storm Isaac and preserve Florida’s emergency management resources. Officials have predicted participants may encounter severe transportation difficulties due to sustained wind and rain.

The Republican National Convention will take place and officially nominate Mitt Romney and Paul Ryan, and the Party has other necessary business it must address. We also are remaining in constant contact with state and federal officials and may make additional schedule alterations as needed.

The Convention staff is working around-the-clock to ensure the delegations housed in storm-impacted areas have alternative housing if needed. The Committee on Arrangements will provide additional information to delegates and alternate delegates who are affected by Isaac by Sunday morning. We will also provide guidance to those delegates and alternate delegates who may encounter travel difficulties due to the storm.

We will begin issuing revised convention programming as early as Sunday.

We have an experienced team that will ensure changes are operationally smooth and create as little disruption as possible. The most important concern is safety, but our Convention program will proceed.

So lets say that many delegates decide not to even attend this opening and we have the majority..... can we stop them from recessing? call for business? Nominate?

What do you bet they try to use this to in some way avoid roll call of the states, including states which will not vote for Romney? 'For time considerations?'

Ron Paul supporters don't go down without a fight ... although, it is not clear this is a Ron Paul supporter, could be just an "interested party."

COMMENT:
Mitt Romney is a criminal and has taken control of the RNC, kicking out duly-elected delegates and changing all the rules at the last minute with his high-powered attorney Ginsberg ... DELEGATES DO NOT VOTE FOR MITT ROMNEY. He will LOSE because he CANNOT and WILL NOT UNITE this party with his criminal behavior. ABSTAIN!!!!!!!

yeah, I had a pussy cat video up but thought better of it, just in case the hurricane changes direction TUESDAY is ridiculous though. I think they are hoping media won't bother to come to Ron's rally with RNC not just starting immediately after. And of course they will try to cram through the rules change and nomination 'in the interests of time and safety'. You might almost think they were in doubt

I got this message on FB:

** LATEST NEWS !!!!!!! URGENT !!!!!!!!!!!!! **
DELEGATES GET TO THE RNC ON MONDAY
LATEST TACTIC - RNC TEXT MESSAGING SYSTEM TEXTED ALL RP DELEGATES AND ALTERNATES TO TELL THEM THAT MONDAY WAS CANCELED AND THE RNC WOULD START ON TUESDAY, BUT REINCE PRIEBUS TOLD YAHOO NEWS THAT THEY WOULD "CONVENE ON MONDAY AND IMMEDIATELY RE-CONVENE ON TUESDAY." THIS IS THEIR NEXT EVIL TACTIC TO EVADE THE RON PAUL SUPPORTERS !!! GET TO THE CONVENTION HALL ON MONDAY BEFORE DAYLIGHT AND DO. NOT. LEAVE. !!!!!!!!!!!

Hope that doesn't impact Ron's rally.

It isn't supposed to make landfall in Florida except maybe Key Largo (an island). There will be rain, doubtless. But it will be after Ron's rally, late Sunday or Monday, even to reach southern Florida.

You realize that feeder bands are already impacting parts of Florida, and it's Saturday, right? Not agreeing with the insanity in Tampa right now, but to imply there's not going to be damage except to areas where the storm's center is, is a little off the mark.

How does this impact Rand's speech? And will they go through with Ron's tribute video on Tuesday?

I wasn't implying that. I was wondering how much there would be where he is at that time.
