Stay Outside The Voting Places For Sign Wave After You Have Voted!

How can this be illegal?! I just watched on CNN where Romney stood outside a polling location to shake hands with people coming in and he had a dozen people standing behind him with signs.

Nobody has said it was illegal. Just questioned whether it was since in many states it absolutely is 100% illegal.

Here in FL it's 100 feet from the doorway of the polling place. I imagine it's similar in NH. After RP voters vote, and cross the threshold, they should pop out a fold up poster that says "I VOTED RON PAUL" for the video cameras to capture. Then YouTube it.

I think you have to be something like 500 feet away.

Great idea. Bring plenty of slim-jims if you have some.

I thought PA was 500 feet but I think I am wrong.

Look guys, even Yale Research Laboratories agrees that election day mobilization has more effect on GOTV than anything:

Yes guys, I know that throwing a sign-waving party is MORE FUN, while canvassing and shuttling people back and forth to the polls like a stupid taxi while nannying over all the apathetic voters who are too damn lazy to get out of bed is dead boring -- but that's what works!

Get it into your heads people, stop trying to do what's fun, and set your mind to do what WORKS.

not what's FUN people, but what WORKS.

Obama's people have chosen to do what works instead of what's fun, that's why they won Iowa, and that's why they are winning New Hampshire.

You don't want to be outperformed by Obama's people do you?

There should be a sign that says "No Electioneering beyond this point" , or something similar. You can hold your sign BEHIND that line.

Be aware, you are NOT allowed to actively confront people in any state. You can stand there and hold your sign.. but you CANNOT go TO someone who is walking up to the polling place. You must let them come to you. If you go to them, it MIGHT be seen as trying to inhibit a voter.

GunnyFreedom is become almost funny with his harping on this, but he's right. ESPECIALLY today. Sign-waving is just about useless at this point, except maybe for getting in the face of media who try to pretend we don't exist.

So what's your goal?

1. Get Ron Paul signs seen on TV? Then do sign waving.

2. Get the highest vote total possible for RP in New Hampshire today? Then after you vote, start calling people, start picking people up and driving them to the polls ... everything GunnyFreedom has been hectoring you about. I've done this before. It's not fun at all. I hated it. I tried to look for excuses not to do it. But remember, when the polls close tonight, that's it -- it's all over in NH; we will have gotten all the votes we're going to get there. Now -- right now -- is the time to be cajoling, begging, physically bringing people into the polls to vote for RP.

Thanks to everyone who is working to get out the vote in NH, BTW. You are heroes.

Hey thanks Stephensmith - I hate harping on this point so hard and repetitively myself - I feel kinda stupid banging this point over and over; ad nauseum. But if we can win on account of me looking like a fool, then I will gladly look like a fool. I am about to hit the IRC channels looking for NH-er RP supporters so I can shame them into helping GOTV.

If anybody has access to a list of NH Precinct Captains to post somewhere it would help when I found one of these slackers :) to tell them who to get in touch with.

And I couldn't agree more - election day mobilization has got to be the worst, most boring, awful, thankless job in the existence of the universe. But it's also the most vitally important to winning.

Let's win this thing!!!

Now we're in crunch time. Now we're in the time where we seperate the bandwagoners and the "kids in the basement" mentality from the people who actually are willing to sacrifice and work for Ron Paul.

I hope the press is wrong about us. I hope we show them that it's not just an internet game.
