Source Close to Ron Says it's Possible he Could Still be Swayed to Run 3rd Party.......

Now it's okay to discuss a third party run when it may be too late and he won't be able to get on the ballots? Thanks to the authoritarian moderators who were deleting all third party run posts when it was clear that he mathematically wasn't winning the Republican nomination and there was still time to get on the ballots in virtually all of the states. If he is not enthusiastic about the grassroots support it's not surprising to me considering there has been so much fighting and suppression of opinions here.

I am wholeheartedly for a third party/independent run and sent Dr. Paul a candid letter a couple months ago urging him to run but regardless of what happens I'm not voting for Romney due to the shenanigans in the Republican party and convention. Also we need to get more involved locally to build a stronger movement.

Dr. Pauls best chances of a getting on the national stage was thru the GOP. Now it's time to get behind an established 3rd party that's already on the ballots & is supporting the Liberty movement. Gary Johnson will not win. But if we can get him on the national debate stage, we can set ourselves up for 2016 Libertarian, liberty movment, TeaParty presidency...... Not to mention, several seats in congress and senate.

Point is, if we stay divided on this issue for more than 2 months, will we always be divided.
 
Of course I'd back ron! and I have no doubt in my mind that Gary would give the Indy spot to him. I would completely vote for ron if he ran. I think it'd be a GREAT idea! But I doubt it'll happen.

Gary is running on the Libertarian ticket. An independent run at this juncture is impossible.
 
If you all wanted paul to run indy then you should have got him on the ballot before. Its far too late now.

Also wont running indy hurt Rand?

If anyone questions it later, they could say -- even if later polling has new candidate Ron at 15%+ -- that he got into the race too late.

I was bursting with excitement a few minutes ago. I'm trying to contain myself right now so that my post doesn't come out like this:
OMFG! RON PAUL IN THE DEBATES!!! MY LIFE HAS PURPOSE AGAIN!!!!!!

This would seriously be the most humanitarian thing Ron Paul could do at this point in his life. Imagine Ron Paul in a nationally-televised debate with Obama and Romney bringing up US FOREIGN POLICY, the drug war, corporate welfare! Millions of Americans--democrats and republicans would really wake up. Obama and Romney would look so insincere next to a guy like Ron Paul. Romney has no convictions about anything, and Ron Paul would destroy Obama on Bradley Manning/Wikileaks, the NDAA, the Patriot Act, Syria, Afghanistan, Gitmo, using federal troops to arrest legal drug users, Iran, cutting the foreign empire, and he could even call out Obama's lies about "supporting the middle class" (while also supporting the bailouts and extending the Bush tax cuts).

PLEASE oh PLEASE! I would do anything for this to happen. I pledge to donate $2,500 to Ron Paul if he goes on a nationally televised debate with Obama and brings up foreign policy.

I have grown so lazy at this point, because I don't see how the fight for humanity can continue with the latest political developments (sanctions on Iran, terrible news media). please Please PLEASE Ron Paul---run third party. You are the only person in the entire country who can make it onto that debate stage!

I understand what you're saying. But, on the off chance that RP does run 3rd Party, we will know very soon. There will be many weeks to coalesce behind Gary Johnson.

We should consider looking at this as a plus, rather than a minus. What good does it do them to blame or exclude us? It will just make them lose even worse in the subsequent elections. This Mittens/RNC corruption of 2012 needs to be memorialized in perpetuity and held up as the great blight in our republic. We have traditional Republican values. The fact that the "Republican Party" does not and wants to exclude us does not make us the enemy of Republicanism. It makes us the resistance movement. The Charles de Gaulle, carrying the torch in exile.

I just found out that GJ is strongly for the FAIR TAX, which many people around here are for. Combine that with their pro 2nd Amendment stance and I think even Clint Eastwood would support a Paul/Johnson ticket.

Isn't the FAIR tax at this point a 23% sales tax ON TOP of an income tax? Do you think we'd ever get rid of either?
 
Well, supposedly there would be no other taxes. Ron has said it would be a good first step.
