Source Close to Ron Says it's Possible he Could Still be Swayed to Run 3rd Party.......

Yes, this is where we suck in the 40% of voters who call themselves independents.

Is anyone else half expecting Jesse Benton himself to post in this thread and say "HELL NO!"?

didn't Jesse Ventura say he will endorse Ron Paul if he runs third party, not that it would help at all.

PRESIDENT PAUL, PRESIDENT PAUL, PRESIDENT PAUL.

j/K ... I just really miss saying that and would LOVE to be able to chant that again. I would be even louder, if that's possible, a next go around.

As far as i'm concerned, he's my one and only President. The only one I've supported in decades, and, most likely, the only one I'll ever support.

Hopefully he's on vacation...

Though from a reverse psychology standpoint, that would more firmly entrench ppl to get behind Paul going third party.

Maybe Ron underestimates the power of his message? I don't know. But he makes so much sense, that if the public ever really hears him, he, his message, will win.

edit: and then, the universe will not be ashamed of us, and will accept us expanding into it.

That doesn't mean we shouldn't vote for third parties in general elections: By all means, do. I'm going to, and I'd also love it for Ron Paul to take the fight to the debate stage this year...but I'm not quitting the GOP either, because doing so would put way too big of a smile on the RNC's face.

Mini-Me,

Thank you for the response. I'm just speaking from the position of someone who didn't follow politics at all until about a year ago. I'm pretty sure that 99% you mentioned is in the same boat as myself based on the zero responses I've received from social networking posts in that time period. I'm just trying to point out that Ron Paul has a following right now. MUCH more than Gary Johnson for example and MUCH more than the MSM lets us know ( I know from talking to people ). A third party run might not make him president, but I believe it could make inroads to a liberty-minded people much more than politicians that the general public has never heard of ever will. Political types here need to remember that those 99% don't know who you are and they aren't going to vote for you. Maybe I'm wrong, but I think Dr Paul could still keep the political upset going, and in doing so keep the idea of liberty and libertarianism in peoples minds for some time to come. Just my 2 cents.

I don't think theres much of a chance of him running, he seemed to be happy about retiring, but I can see it being possible after what happened at the convention. Didn't Ron say he only ran in 2012 because of the way the grassroots wanted him to? Ron never restrained himself for his own political career, I don't think he would for his sons either. Ron's rally was in a way reaching out to the Republican party with the logo. Ron spoke for over an hour without mentioning Romney or Obama, but they wont allow him to speak for 15 minutes about fiscal responsibility and the constitution after he earned it and they even cheat to prevent it? If I was him, there would definitely be more desire to run now than before the convention.

Edit,

But I would support him, and get more involved than in the primary if he did.

I just saw a bit of Stossol's show - rerun and will play more this weekend, but Paul was on and asked about GJ and he stopped short of an endorsement. Maybe he was saving it for the 4th?

seems like there were some clues in there. He laid heavy praise on us, his supporters.

I'd love to see it happen. :)

When it really comes down to it, you guys, the delegate standing up for what's right, the posters on the forum arguing about things but coming together on the basics....
That pumps me up and keeps me going every bit as much and along with who Ron Paul is and what he has done.
We Are The Future, you, me, my son, your son, my daughter, your daughter, all of us.

He could definitely make some major progress in keeping LIBERTARIAN from being a 4-letter word.

Oh, wait. It's not.

:)
