'Signal-gate': Trump Team Brings Neocon Journo Into Yemen Attack Planning Sessions?

"In one of the most bizarre foul-ups (or was it?) of all time, Trump National Security Advisor Mike Waltz invited The Atlantic's editor-in-chief into a Signal discussion group (!) where the Admin's attack on Yemen was being planned. What if it was no leak at all and instead a "pro-war psy-op"? With secure communications equipment available to the Administration...why did they discuss apparently highly classified war-planning information on a commercial chat app? Will heads roll?"

With secure communications equipment available to the Administration...

It's possible they are using signal because they think the "secure communications" that is available to them is compromised somehow, either by the chinese or by deep state traitors.

Which would indicate of course a bigger problem.

Either way, whatever policy is in place that led them to want to use signal is obviously flawed, even if thats the public records act or whatever, noone follows that anyway so just repeal it

Signal is secure, and that's why the totalitarians hate it so much.

And you may be right. "Official" secure communications are probably compromised by many players. Which may be why they exposed this particular Signal conversation. Who could guess the motive when a neoconservative reporter was added to the chat by a neoconservative staffer (Alex Wong) of neoconservative cabinet member Mike Waltz?

Hmm. Could be one of those deep state traitors I was referring to

Shouldn't they meet in person when deciding such a major move as dropping bombs and killing a bunch of people? I heard some of the text and the casualness is effed up.

People have brought that up, but they have referenced a prior cabinet meeting with Trump present where it was discussed. You'd have to assume that this had been discussed at many different times, different levels, and with different groups of people before this chat was thrown together.

You can only imagine how many people had input on this before it occurred. Everyone probably has an "AIPAC guy" they had to talk to, along with a myriad of special interest lobbyists.
