Foreign policy will be back on the table in SC. In the upcoming week, the IRAN issue will be debated again.
RP will be attacked on his position on IRAN.
Here is my question:
Should RP just tell the truth about IRAN and expose the warmongers?
The truth is: All this Iran war talk is NOT about nuclear bombs (they're not even close to one and they wouldn't be a threat if they got one), it's NOT about Israel (they don't want US support, they want to take care of the problem on their own; they have 300 nuclear bombs), it's NOT about Al Quaida (they hate Iran), IT IS ABOUT OIL (and natural gas). In essence, the reasons why all the GOP draft dodgers aka "chickenhawks" are the same they were before the IRAQ war: No wmds, no Israel, no Al Quaida. It's always about the oil, stupid! We can also go a step further and say: It's BIG oil, stupid! The multinational oil companies who are ripping the American people off at the gas pump. They're willing to double oil prices due to another war, just to make more profits. Additionally, exposing this would also be a great opportunity to explain inflation, because a) a war requires more money printing due to deficit spending and b) oil is up in dollars a lot in the last decade, but it FELL in terms of gold.

RP basicly said all of the above during the 2008 campaign, see here:

He repeated this argument partially during the current cycle:

There was also a commitee hearing in 2008 on oil and the dollar where Dr Paul made great points on the the value of the dollar and it's impact on the price of oil, sorry for the aweful sound.

No. Making us sound more like conspiracy theorists is a bad idea. Particularly when there is no strong evidence behind YOUR theory.

It's about global power politics. It's about a stupid belief in American exceptionalism combined with a desire to exert influence into every corner of the world.

Lie Ron Lie. They cant handle the truth!

But there is more to it than just oil. Its about the whole war machine and the military industrial complex. Its a real mess. We shouldn't have these massive standing armies. What do you expect them to do? just sit around and do nothing. If you get a big enough army just standing around, before to long they will attack someone.

No one is asking him to lie? In fact he tells the truth on this more than anyone today.

It's all of these things. I beleive there's a recent youtube clip of frothy talking about energy interests in the middle east and trying to have an edge over the competition (Russia and China) in the Mid East. So, it's Big Oil, energy dominance, Military Industrial Complex, Big Bank, etc.

No it's Israel. Why would they want to fight a war themselves and risk their own blood and treasure when they know we'll happily do it for them ?
Netanyahu has said that they don't want US help, maybe just in public, but he did.
Two Mossad heads said they don't see a nuclear Iran as a threat.
The Neocons in the US claim it's for Israel, but let's be clear: They often just use "Israel" as an excuse to rally the clueless Christians behind a certain issue, because they know that they'll support and do everything if it's done "for" Israel.

I believe, as others have alluded to, that this is mainly Geo-political in nature. If we gain powerful footholds in a nation all of that nations resources, not just oil, can be used to our benefit. Oil is secondary compared to having influence over that nations government which leads to influence of everything else, including oil, and of course strategical placement against our "competitors" like Russia. 4 star general Wesley Clark all but proves the Geo-political nature of these wars in this press conference.

The interesting thing about this is that we are in all the countries now that he said we were looking at then.

No, that's not what they said, they said that Israel would be crazy to attack Iran, they never said they didn't want the U.S. to do it.

Iran is obviously pursuing a nuclear weapon. Cancer treatment? lol

Sanctions also show this. There's no reason for them to continue this energy source when it's hurting their economy badly.
