Schiff vs James Galbraith on CNBC 4/26/2010

The professor has his head in the sand. Of course the government can borrow at these rates in the short-term, but that does not address the fundamental problem of excessive public debt in a long-term environment.

I would like to see the viewer responses of Erin Burnett's (the host) question asked at the end of the segment aired. I would also be delighted to have this professor included in the 2011/2012 version of the "Peter Schiff was Right" video.

Is it alright that Peter can laugh at other people now?

"Everyone else was wrong", with clips of Peter Schiff laughing at each one of them, will make a fine complimentary video for the next "Peter Schiff was right" video.

In this era of our movement emerging in the mainstream, I urge our figureheads NOT to make the same mistakes the enemy made when attempting to confront us several years ago. Humility is a virtue.

It seems, judging by her closing remarks, that there should be a part II to that video. Tubes?

what a fucking egghead!

i have more respect for a flat earther than this idiot on the left....imagine, spending so many years at university just to be able to spout utter nonsense

That guy is a perfect example of why we are screwed.. He is also the perfect example of why other great economies have collapsed in the past.

Thanks for the video, and I can hardly wait for peter schiff was right 2.0!

Humility is not a virtue - and in Peter's case, humility would be akin to lying. Downplaying a virtuous accomplishment is a disgusting thing to do. Peter is an accomplished man, and has every right to laugh in the face of idiocy. Just like Ayn Rand's most heroic characters, Peter laughs, shrugs, and then totally annihilates his immoral altruist enemy.

I disagree, but we don't have the same perception of humility. It's one thing to say that you're right and show your record of correct prediction. It's another thing to run around laughing at your opponents and saying "told ya so, told ya so". One can have humility and still present a case, showing the accuracy of their track record. No matter how right you are, it's never okay to be a dick, because even if you're right, you'll lose support among people who are on the fence. Even though Schiff is right, a huge plurality of people don't agree. So being rude and laughing at the guy who is saying what many people (wrongly) believe doesn't help convert them to the cause.

The question proposed by CNBC is rather leading (fear-mongering, seriously?) and deserved a chuckle to ridicule it. Laughing at other guests probably isn't the best way to convert people, but Peter probably just couldn't help himself.

The reason Peter brought up how he was right before was simply to show how the overall market can often be wrong about its rosy predictions for the economy and government debt.

Schiff is a pro that lives and dies by the markets, and he made Galbraith's pointy little academic head spin with his shocking logic. Gailbraith sputtered while Schiff scored FTW!!!!

You gotta love how knuckleheads like Galbraith take Peter's statement that government is distorting the markets to mean that free markets are unreliable and therefore government should control things. Lol.

Agreed!

LOL! Perfect comparison

As long as he comes off the right way, I agree he shouldn't hesitate to point out he accmplishments
