I was in Iowa the last two weeks for Ron Paul's Student Christmas Vacation in Iowa. On the last day our database got messed up and we were not able to remind everyone to go vote and carpool. The group I was with was able to identify one Ron Paul supporter who needed a ride to the caucus.
We went to pick this old woman up and on the way to the caucus she was constantly talking about Ron Paul. We all (3 of us) waited in the school until after the caucus to give her a ride back. On the way back one of us asked her, "So what made you decide to vote for Ron Paul?" Then she replied, "Well, actually I voted for Huckabee because I'm a Christian and he's a Christian too."
Our mouths dropped...
I'm sure it went through all our minds leaving her in the middle of nowhere stranded but us Ron Paul supporters are incredibly nice. We didn't even give her crap for it we were pretty much speechless the way back. I got on my phone and pretended that I was talking to my mom. I tried to make her at least feel a little guilty, "Hey mom. Yeah I should be getting back to Texas on Saturday so I can still make it to church on Sunday. Yeah, I heard that pastor Chuck Baldwin endorsed Ron Paul." I cant remember the rest of the stuff I said but it was something about Ron Paul's brother also being a Christian before I pretended to hang up.
I got a picture of the so-called "Christian" that scammed us:
As she was getting out of the car I said something like, "We're sorry you didn't end up voting for Ron Paul but thanks anyway."
The worst part is because we gave her a ride and waited for her, we missed Ron Paul's rally in Des Moines.
