Thank you to everyone that participated in last night's conference call. We had over 4,000 supporters from the campaign listening in! What a real testament to the grassroots family we built during the campaign and the hopes we share for the future.

As I said last evening I am very excited about the possibilities for what we can continue to accomplish together and I am not backing down from the fight for our conservative ideals. We must and will focus on energizing conservatives so our values are reflected in our Party platform and our national discourse. If we are going to defeat Barack Obama and restore our conservative principles to government we must work together or we will never succeed.

I am eager to join this fight, but first I must finish paying off our campaign debt. If you have not donated to our campaign since last Tuesday, I ask that you [url deleted] please CLICK HERE to contribute $25, $50 or even $100 or more to help us retire our debt.

If you have already donated thank you! Once we settle our debt, we aren't going to look back. I am so very optimistic about what we can accomplish working together!

During this Presidential race we sacrificed almost everything we have to ensure that the American dream lives on and does not wither away under President Obama. We fought for struggling families and for the unborn.

I still believe in the dream and I know you do as well. So please donate today in the amount you can afford.[URL deleted] And we will pick up the fight where we left off in a new and exciting way!

Karen and I will never forget the prayers and kind words from so many of the people we met on our journey. Thank you once again!

They only got 4k on a conference call? I bet if Ron held a conference call it'd be more like 100k dialing in!

But more to the point, I thought this guy was conservative? Debt isn't conservative. If he can't run his Campaign well enough to not be in debt, how do we expect him to run the government?

um, he did end his campaign when he started going into debt, at least, unlike Newt ($4 million in debt and counting).

My point being, he has ended his campaign and I welcome his supporters looking into Ron as the last conservative fighting against Romney.

There's a lot of conflicting reports though, on if he had debt...versus how much money he had on HAND. That's the difference. A campaign can have debt, but also have the funds to pay that debt.
A campaign can also have debt, and no funds to pay it...
Santorum's campaign was saying they would report over $1 million "cash-on-hand", before he dropped out...then when he dropped out, he continued to ask for more money. So it's not really clear why.

Dear Sen. Santorum,

I know of thousands of people that will help you settle this debt. AND you will be able to promote the cause of REAL conservatism.

If he can't get the debt paid off by his supporters, hes' going to end up endorsing Romney to get it paid off by Romney's campaign or the the RNC.

I think he wants to keep it for other efforts and have debt paid off otherwise. Or maybe he has more debt than cash on hand. We'll find out when the reports come out.

Would it be considered an illegal bribe if I tell Rick I'll help pay off his debt if he endorses Ron Paul? :D

I was wondering if PACs could do that sort of thing. Probably there can't be a direct quid pro quo, but what do I know?

Here's the part that is a little bit more interesting. Santorum declined to endorse Romney, and told his supporters to vote their conscience. Have to wonder if there isn't an alterior motive there, but at least he's not helping Romney gain any steam:

many possibilities. He could be maintaining his leverage for a Romney deal, or could want to continue being an anti Romney for a future bid and have a pac like Ron did and Huck did to build organization for future races. We'll see.

I hear Newton is $4.55 million in debt. And he wants us to take him SERIOUSLY?

So why would Santorum remove his anti-Romney ads, if he wasn't already preparing to endorse Romney? It makes no sense. He went around saying Romney was as bad as Obama, and within 72 hours of dropping out he removes all negative Romney content?

I don't think he's going to run any ads at all right now.

to keep his options open while maintaining leverage.

If Santorum endorses Ron Paul, then we could do a 'Save Santorum money bomb'....the reason for this is instead of having one camp fighting Romney, in a sense it would be two.

Good idea?...bad idea?. just a thought.

I haven't heard anything about newt... I am so surprised this isnt a kill or be killed campaign yet. there's only 1 person left.
